E Team:

Will everyone please look at the DNP thread and submit a designated sub for this match according what is outlined there? We're doing a little experimental DNP mitigation trial. Thank you. League Office

E Team, going all Rip City...

Durant, Dame, CJ, Griffin, Nurkic, Aldridge Mitigator: Justin Holiday (15th pick)

And for what it's worth, under Mark's proposed All Roster Plan, I would probably designate Aaron Gordon as my sub. Maybe we should all submit one of those, too.

E Team:

Also, if the guys I picked for our mitigation simulation aren't gonna be in your lineup, just pick some other random starter for the trial, okay?

Invaders go Howard/Jokic/Giannis/Lowry/Butler/Oladipio and let's go Rubio under E Plan or Beal under mine but in this instance I doubt there will be a large spread between Rubio and Beal ironically I think if I subbed 5s Kanter would outscore Lopez. The point is the draft really becomes irrelevant I just want the right to use my whole team....

Well after rereading the Eteam trial balloon I see I messed it up because I decided to play Oladipio over Beal anyway. The way it would work then is Oladipio would go to 2 instead of 6 and Rubio therefore could could become the 6 instead of Butler? or Russell is a 1-2 if that works better in the Beal example but Russell has been playing hurt

Nitecaps
1. John Wall
2. K. Thompson
3. Harrison Barnes
4. K. Porzingas
5. J. Embiid
6. Steph Curry

Don't recall my draft order, but I believe Ben Simmons applies either way.

Swat says:
Kyrie 1, Booker 2, Melo 3, ADave 4, Drummond 5, Middleton 6

I don't have a list of my players by draft order, so I guess I will go Reggie as my "mitigator".

Ticket
Horford
Love
Warren
DeRozan
Dragic
Westbrook

Pick 10 or after...Fournier
I think Milsap was chosen before Bradley,Warren and Randle.

If I choose a questionable Marc Gasol for this alternative, he is also too early of a pick. This exercise is a waste since it excludes guys. Why should any one on roster be off limits?

So Tom is agreeing with me. This is just a test but I doubt we'll see any major affect. It is an interesting idea to test it that Eric has. Trouble is one match will be too small sample size and we can't waste too many matches deciding. I assume we are still using 35 game schedule?

E Team:

Actually, we can waste as many matches as we like. We already have a DNP mitigation provision in effect. We implemented it last year after much deliberation.

Anybody remember that?

Tom, why don't you put up a thread called Mitigation Trial or something and I'll report results while Mark concentrates on the actual matches. I think Mark's wrong about the sample size. It's not one match; it's seven different scenarios. Let's just see what happens.

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

We are trying this for all 6 positions? OK let's see where it takes us. What I meant is that only a relatively quick analysis would facilitate adopting it this season. I can't see changing a rule if we still haven't agreed on it before we've played one time through or perhaps two times up to game 14.

I was one off on Ben Simmons
Lauri Markkanen

So, I am trying to understand the proposed DNP mitigation.

Basically, if we feel that we are going to have a DNP at a certain position we put a 7th player in place to fill that position OR we just put a 7th player in and their score counts for that Match.

And they have to be a 10th round pick or more?

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

I'm glad you asked Sean, the two proposals are any player vs 11th round or later. We are attempting to specify this by position in Eric's test run in which he picked a particular player from each team to mitigate.I suppose if the player is 11-15 he should be any position. Problem is I think most DNPs aren't predictable. If the guy is your 6th man position wouldn't matter so that's an angle to make it open to anyone on your roster. If you senses a DNP is possible making that guy 6th man opens up more possible replacements. I favor just allowing anyone on your team within a 24 hour period to replace your DNP
