I want a vote on the DNP. I don't care if P4 is MIA or Wingo finds it too complicated. I'm getting the classic DNP with a player not listed during the day but is a no go tonight.
Under my proposed I would have posted
I see Ben Simmons is a DNP he is my 6th man. I will sub Dennis Smith Jr.

seems pretty simple to me?

Dave, you can't "not care" that half the league isn't sold on a proposal that - like Wingo said - hasn't even really been fully made. I feel for you on the Simmons thing, but I think there are guys that A) while not fans of the DNP, realize that there's no simple way to make it go away completely, B) recognize that we have a DNP mitigation plan in place already, and C) wonder how complicated any new "solution" is going is be - assuming we can agree on what it even is. Plus, guys are

I'm not against looking at some possibilities, buy I'm also not feeling any desperate need to throw some half-baked thing into the works mid-season without having really thought it through. We deserve a plan that everyone can agree on. And in the meantime, no squad is more vulnerable to a DNP than any other, as always.

Stay cool.

Ticket says I got 187 this match.

Eric (and unnamed others)
I'm going to propose this one more time. I laugh when you say "half baked", it's the system that every other fantasy league known to man (not called a weekly) uses. Thats why Mark understands it and Sean understands it. It's also, why it's so hard me to understand why Chris doesn't understand it.
Your argument about not trying to implement something, sounds like pro gun people after a mass shooting.
"Feeling desperate" "Rush out and do something"??? We've been talking about this for years. It only get's heated when it happens to someone, when the game matters. I also tried to get a decision on it at the end of last year when emotions where high, but people are too easy to forget it until next time it happens to them, instead of trying implement something.

If we used your (Eric)" We deserve a plan that everyone can agree on."??? Do we deserve a supplemental draft time that everyone can agree on? Clearly the rule doesn't apply there.

Don't get me wrong Eric, the 2 changes we've made in the last 20+ years have been outstanding and made the league much more enjoyable.

Here is one last explanation why this works and the other two don't... using football this time...with multiple choice

If when on Sunday I look at my roster and find out that WR Sterling Shepard has a migraine and won't play today
Should I...

A) Sub in WR Paul Richardson
B) Sub in RB Kareem Hunt
C) Sub in RB Orleans Dawarka
D) Oh well...everyone has an equal shot at getting a migraine
E) Draft a team less prone to migraines

If you selected "A" you believe you should sub in a player at the same position
If you selected "B" you believe you should be able to sub in any player
If you selected "C" you believe you should be able to sub in any player drafted after the 10th round
If you selected "D" you believe this is too soon to talk about gun control
If you selected "E" you are Eric

As a side note; B & C are not allowed in any league either, unless it's for a flex position or in our case the 6th man.

Hey, some of that was actually pretty funny. Good work, Dave.

Here's a couple things I was just thinking about. This match, my Kevin Durant was facing back-to-back games at home with a kinda bum ankle: Last night against Chicago and tonight against the Pelicans. I had a feeling the Warriors might sit him against the Bulls, who are like dogshit wrapped in catshit, and then suit him up tonight. So far, my prediction has come true. Crossing my fingers that he'll go tonight.

In the old days, I probably would have pulled Durant. With the Second Chance Rule, I have another option. Good stuff. My point being, we have mitigation in place.

Now that doesn't help you with the Simmons problem, and yes, I think we should create something that gives you some relief in that scenario. Hence, we've arrived at our first decision: add another mitigation mechanism to the current regimen, or junk the SCR? Stop right there. Take a breath. We may have found common ground.

Hold on, I have to go drink some of my wife's french press. I'll be back.

Been called away. Back to this a bit later.

I like Dave's football analogy because there's no sport with more DNPs....the great thing about multiple choice is you can always guess and have a possibility of being right. If you don't submit any answer then you have 100% chance of being wrong. The Giants were the perfect example because their team is in complete meltdown even losing to the 49ers.......Migranes in football? Love it! The best part is only hardcore football people know the players Dave's talking about. Final Ticket wins a close one defeating Swat 191-188 T(MGas-32...Love-25...Warren-24...Derozan-21...Westbrook-52...Dragic-32) SW(Kyrie-38...Booker-18...Melo-32...AD-35...Drummond-36...Whiteside-29)

Eric's response is good too wish I had some of that French press....I think we will get somewhere on this the Gobert issue bothers me more than surprise DNPs because it means the league has apathy. At least last year when I couldn't focus I designated Eric to run my team and I was competitive down the stretch. Can someone get P4 to do something similar?.... Partials Invaders 149 awaiting machine tally...Wingo 148 ETeam 113 Paul and Porter vs. Griff and Lamarcus KD DNP...Nitecaps 118 P4 105 Barnes/Embiid and Simmons for Dave are left to go while we are haunted by the ghost of Gobert and Harden lingers for P4

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

Invaders have Greek freak and Beal tonight I neglected to mention in my game so Dave's/Eric's and P4 DNPs are helping me lower the monster's intake. Wingos caught Dray injury and subbed Jrue

Sorry I missed yesterday's DNP discussion, was attending the last dismantling of the year of Beaver football team at the hands of the Oregon Ducks in the 121st Civil War game. What a difference it makes for this team having Justin Herbert back from his 4 game absence due to a broken collarbone injury.

I will check my numbers too, but I believe I did beat Ticket by 1 point, Mark your player totals for Ticket come up to 186 posted previously on 11/25 @ 12:14.

Nitecaps get a win due entirely to the persistent P4 DNP. Awful stuff. Mark's right. That kind of thing is more troubling than a garden variety DNP. I had hoped we were past such irresponsible behavior from team owners. Very disappointing.

The total is correct but MGas has 37 not 32 listed. The problem is I do totals by hand and line them up vertically with penmanship challenges the bottom of the 7 in Gasol's 37 hit the top of the 5 in Love's 25 making a cross from the top of the 5 intersect the bottom of the 7 making it look like a 32-is that clear? the score is correct
