Oh, man, I can see the heartbreak coming on this one. The Swat Team, one of the more insistent battlers all season, is probably going to need a 30+ from his most recent acquisition, Nothing-but-Air Canada, to beat the Nitecaps and keep his third place aspirations alive.
Here's what we know. The E Team has defeated the P4s by 207-191, ending the Germans' postseason hopes. (Dave, don't feel so bad about Wright and KevMart; the P4s passed on a 60 from Chris Paul.)
Swat has VC and a 31-point lead against the Nitecaps and Amare. If Swat holds on, he'll own a one-game lead over the XMan for third place with one match to play.
The Nitecaps play the Invaders in Match 40, while Swat takes on JRB. Swat will get third place with a win; while the XMan can win third place with a win and a Swat loss, based on the points tiebreaker.
The only thing left to determine now is the matchups.
Mark will have to fill us in on that race from the cellar.
Invaders confirm 207-191 final as Eric reported..also confirm 168-137 Swat lead over caps w/Amare and Carter to play tomorrow..Invaders lead JRB 170-147 w/Melo left tomorrow for Ryno...Ticket is in the books w/177..Kontrol is currently 168 w/Amare-Vince and Melo divided by 6 yet to be added..Dave's luck w/Martin and right is unbelievable-my move to Conley backfired as did my Horford edge vs.Noah..neither did shit..Nash's pelvic injury(???)and Gordon wrist haunt me going into playoffs..I do have 3 other point guards beside Conley and Nash though...I expected Nash to break down as the season rolled on...
Wait. I misspoke. The P4s' playoffs hopes aren't officially over until Swat beats the Nitecaps. If Amare has a huge game and Carter does jack, which is always a possibility, the Germans are back in the hunt.
Barring an obscene 2nd half run by Amare Swat will beat the Caps..my Invaders have now lost to JRB and only another dozen or so fantasy points by Amare would mean Kontrol will be the victor over Ticket..finals at conclusion of Knick game..

He's pinning his hopes on Vince Carter. Yikes.
E Team says:
Hmm. Maybe Sean's chances aren't as Vinsane as I thought. ZBlow gives Dave a 24 and Mighty Nick Young's Wizards are getting blown out at the half.
Vince Carter has a meaningful moment in the 10'-11' fantasy season!
No you didn't Kevin Martin!
This is going to get interesting.

Drama in Match 40. What more can you ask for?

This is great!
Wow, I do feel better after the Paul decision.
What has been up with CP3 this year?

My fault.

That last post should of read a dozen or so 2nd half fantasy points from Amare and Melo doom Ticket

E Team says:
Tyler Hansbrough outplays Amare and Melo and wins at the Garden. I think he thought he was playing for the ACC Championship.
The Germans have been eliminated from the playoffs. (Not sure what happened there. The Dirk injury? Bad year from BLopez? Pierce? Liked their lineup.)
Swat has taken over third place and controls his own destiny in Match 40.
JRB is out of the cellar and Ticket in. For the moment.
E Team says:
Mark, what was the Ticket/Kontrol final?
E Team says:
Got it.

Match 39 Standings have been mailed out.
