Invaders concession speech-woulda/coulda/shoulda/-Ticket clinches it w/only his first 4 guys.Congratulations Tom....

E Team says:

Uh, not quite the high-powered drama we were hoping for.

DHow 18? A 16 from JRich that turns out to be only five points worse than JoeJohn?

A 21 from GWall and a 12 from ZBo?

Yuck.

The Shooters sit at 146 with - wait for it - Calderon to go. You do the math. (Rose's 33 stays on the bench.)

And while the Creamer's first three guys cough up a 72, you'd expect 100-plus from Bosh, Roy and Westbrook, right? Then again, who knows?

The league office figures one of two things will happen. Either Stacy falls short because of the number he doesn't get from Rose - and that would be the kind of perfect justice we've come to expect - or Calderon actually gives the Ruff Trader something decent, and it's enough to overcome a less than stellar number from Dave's remaining three, which would be another kind of curious, but fair outcome.

I guess we'll see.

And yes, the concession speech by the Mayor of Oakland is appropriate. Led by Wade's 64, Ticket easily powers past the Invaders' 170 even with his Melo still out. He wins the NIT in three matches.

Only one thing left to be decided, one more night to the 2009-2010 campaign.

Ticket says
I figure Cap to celebrate (as the nude) in a cake walk. He's the one smack talking about leaving a bad taste in E-Team's mouth after Lee's DNP.

D. How "The enigma" as much as retard's Rose benching sets a new low not seen in this league since Ticket tanked match 40 for a more favorable playoff match up than E-Team's last decade.

In keeping more with the heartbreaker JASON HART theme for this league than retard's WIN-WITHOUT-CARE for this league, Ticket cracked the book on E-Team's Lee. 56 out of 71 games over 30 fp's=damn near 80%. The only better pick than that was LBJ. The German claim to team of the decade simply doesn't add up to the first fantasy coach with the two best picks in the entire draft. We never saw that before and will never again.

Lee's chance of doing a D How? Forget Lee's 60+ in what would would have claimed E-Team's second title. Three times=4% chance Lee goes sub 20 this season. Only Shaq in his Laker years has proven a better center in this fantasy league.

So Cap can pat himself on the back, and thank his wife Celeste for a celebratory roll in the hay. It could have happened to a better coach.

About that daily transaction sheet in a trial season, is the champ up to that task with some flawless scorekeeper (sic) assistance next year? Can two ex-fantasy leaguers now in his baseball league be drawn back into the fold?

E Teams says:

Working overtime, Bosh gives the XMan a 47, while Calderon checks in with a 29, only four points below Rose.

The Shooters are in the clubhouse with a 175. The NiteCreamers are still out on the course, but not completely out of the woods.

Westbrook should be strong against Old Kidd in a game that ought to go to the wire. One would expect 30 or better, no? That leaves Dave needing something in the mid to high 20s from BRoy.

Does Roy continue his curiously passive play. Do the Kings get blown out?

The nine fp's surrendered by the Ruff Trader's inattention to his squad are looming very large. The upper hand appears to go to the XMan, but we'll see what the fates have in store.

E Team says:

Oh, I meant to mention that Dave's at 119.

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Westbrook, who had 17 at the half, is on the bench with a 24 and the Thunder ahead by 13 with six minutes to play.

Roy has 11 early in the second quarter.

The XMan is 22 fp's from the title.

Eric Maynor is killing my fantasy season or is Scotty Brooks?

nitecaps said...

What happens if there is a tie?

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Westbrook finishes with a 26. Roy goes to the locker room with 15 fp's.

The NiteCreamers need 16 second-half fp's from BRoy to win the championship.

A tie? I guess maybe there'd have to be one more match.

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

BRoy hits a couple of jumpers late in the third and the XMan is 7 fp's from the title.

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

An assist, a rebound, and BRoy is five fp's away from outfitting the XMan with a new ring.

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Four minutes to play. If Roy manages one more fantasy point, the NiteCreamers are the champions.

nitecaps said...

Here it comes...

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Roy is at the line.

He hits the first.

The NiteCreamers win! The NiteCreamers win! Thhhhhhhhe NIteCreamers win!

The Tefloncreamers

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

There it is!

Even though the Nitecap/Creamers seemed to run out of their best stuff shortly after mid-season -they managed only one MHS in the last 18 - nobody could ever beat the XMan when it mattered.

And as the league office predicted, leaving superior players on the bench, as Stacy did, was not the way to break the spell.

So the XMan dodges every last bullet en route to his second title in four years, with an unmistakable assist from the.Drive-By Shooters, who reached two finals 12 years apart only to give both of them away.

Your Super Bowl: NiteCreamers 180, Shooters 175.

It may or may not be worth noting that the P4s, the regular season co-champions, would have lost to the Shooters in two straight, but outscored the Creamers in all three finals matches.
The E Team also outscored the XMan in all three matches, but would have taken the Shooters to a deciding third match, in which the Ruff Trader would have stared up at a 254 from the regular-season scoring titleist.

Hmm.

Beers, money, trophy, etc. next weekend. I officially propose that we go Saturday night at Prost on N.Mississippi and Skidmore, although Friday could work if need be.
Talk to me, people.

Congratulations to Dave and his nocturnal emission squad.Paula is beaming w/pride somewhere!Invaders salute this year's champion

Hoop Social said...

Dave, congrats!! Well done.

Now, do you owe Plus Four $20 or $60 out of your winnings? E says it was 3 straight? I thought we lost the first and won the next two? Das Vier

Hoop Social said...

Ticket says
See ya Friday/Saturday X-Man! You got the last drop out of Bogut.

nitecaps said...

Not be to technical about this but...

"Plus Vier makes friendly wager with DBS and Nitecreams... Our score vs. yours next two matches. $20 per game."

Nitecreamers win match 1 and Plus Vier take match 2

Which would make it even. Feel free to dispute this.

E Team says:

Perhaps the league office misreported the hypothetical head-to-head outcomes involving the Germans and the XMan. I'll double check that.

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

I was wrong.

The P4s lost to the E Team 205-185 in the third place match while the XMan was slipping past Spanish Stacy and his Calderon (10) by 192-191.

Dave put up a 189 in Match 2. Had the Germans still been playing, they would've put up a 202.

And yes, the bet was for two matches only. Looks like no money changed hands there.
