Invaders enjoyed the Middleton story in the Times Tom mentioned-I had an interesting experience at the Athens Marriott in the late 90's with former Clipper David Rivers who over breakfast warned me not to attend his game that evening due to the propensity for violence among Greek fans-he also told me that benches on many NBA teams are composed for political and economic reasons.This results in the forcing out of many players who played for few seasons expecting to stay in the league with modest pay raises.Most like Rivers believing they have proven they are better than other backups and have as he puts it "unfavored agents" get forced to go to Europe to make a living...
