“The rock bands of the ’60s supplanted the football and military heroes, and just as all those heroes had fallen when put to the test, rock musicians proved they had no more of an answer to saving the world than anybody else.”
RIP Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane

Had considered going CJ for Klay since he has had kind of a down January, and then he drops a 45 point, 5 rebound, 2 blocks, and 1 assist line on Wednesday.

Looks like Swat Team will stay the course:

Westbrook, KlayThom, DrayGreen, GregMon, MCGashole, Zeke Jr.

E Team:

Rotoworld says the Spurs are good so they get two guys on the All-Star team. WTF?

Aldridge in the big showdown vs. GS: 2 for 9, 5 pts.

Dame vs. Curry: 40 and 10

Which one's the all-star?

Raiders in the Super Bowl, boring? Wha?

Dave, if that fat fuck Siragusa doesn't sit on Rich Gannon, that's a great game, with Oakland trying to take down that weird bastard Gruden in a grudge match. They shouldn't allow sumo in the NFL.

And re. Super Bowl 4, Tom, c'mon. For any young AFL fanatic, any blow against the empire was huge. I was still hurting at the time, of course, having personally watched my Raiders fail against KC in Oakland, 17-7. The last game of the old AFL. The 5th Dimension played at halftime. Age of Aquarius and all that.

60's were great and the AFL changed the conservative tempo of football making it the most popular sport in America.Historians are hung up on that td Alan Ameche scored in 1959 on national tv first televised NFL championship but the game was boring!!!AFL football rocked thanks to the need to standout vs the conservative 3 yards and a cloud of dust the Browns/Gaints and Packers fed the public.Colts at least threw the ball but not like the Chargers/Oilers/Raiders/ etc..Going to Youell field in 1962-65 packed with 17,000 fans says it all.We ran on the field at the final gun and had to avoid the dog shit in the endzone because people walked their pooches just beyond the end lines during the game.Just five years later Namath and Dawson led our revolutionary heroes to victory against the establishment.Guys it was that heavy believe me.!!

Li'l Hawthorne's second rock concert was Jefferson Airplane in 1967 at Kiel Opera House in St. Louis (went with my dad -- too young to drive). First concert, also at Kiel, was Dylan in 1966, third row center with my sister and parents (pre-Blonde on Blonde tour, first half acoustic, second with the Band). Saw a bumper sticker on point -- "I may be old, but I saw all the best bands". RIP Paul Kantner

I used to see the Dead/Airplane and and Quicksilver for free frequently here in the east bay in the late 60's when I was in my early teens
