Dave-Kontrol is 3-1-break up Kontrol!!-they could win this thing-One of us will have 2 wins after this contest-Invaders go Howard/P.Gasol/Granger/Nash/J.Terry and Mayo-I may change this at last second-I've got Gordon and Green(both those guys are on my Wilt team Dave) hurt and am debating Nash vs.Conley and Howard vs.Horford matchups- I don't like these matchups for Horford or Conley who've both played well-Mayo-Richardson doesn't thrill me either

Hoop Social said...

Eric-the way Noah is playing he should be in your lineup-Invaders believe I may have told you this but I remember when I was taller than Joakim-he lived on the 14th floor(14c) of my building at 230 Central Park South growing up-dad Yannick is a great guy very friendly w/everyone-last time I saw him was summer of '07 listening to headphones in jams and a t-shirt waiting to report to his first Bull training camp

The games this match are E-Ticket/My guys-Nitecaps/Swat-JRB/P4-Kontol-a battle for first place..

Hoop Social said...

Invaders will change to the following lineup-Howard/Gasol/Granger/Nash/Mayo and Conley

Ticket says

Bogut-5
Scola-4
Joe J-3\
Wade-2
Mo Willy-1
Deron-6

Since E-Team made his P4 impersonation himming and hawwing over his geriatric Carter to drop before the second round of the supplemental draft, I rushed Invaders into taking Thornton. If he prefers Rich Jeff., I'll take his Thornton. He should make this decision ASAP. The E-Team friendly NoCal consumer seems to me as angling after a postponed until after draft bout of buyer's remorse. The fact that E-Team nearly ran me off the hour of computer time I had is probably to blame for a patient person like me shooting his mouth off out of turn, I'm sure everyone would agree.

Hoop Social said...

Tom- Invaders say that yes you did indeed pick Jefferson before I had a chance to make my pick but since I couldn't make the decision I'm ok w/Thornton-next time though we've got to pick in order whether it's an issue of library time or not...you can always call me or someone else to make your picks for you on Sundays...there's no buyer's remorse involved...

Mark, I suggest we take out the high and low scores and just battle with our middle 4?

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Mark, I met Yannick Noah at a niteclub in Madrid back in the early 80's. At the time I was doing the expatriate thing in Spain and dating the Argentine fashion model Graciela Nilsson, who had been the girlfriend of Guillermo Vilas. I do remember Noah as a nice, unassuming fellow, and built like a halfback.

Also met Fernando Martin while I was living there. Was he the first Spaniard to play in the NBA?

Hoop Social said...

Dave let's take out are bottom 3 as Conley and Mayo didn't do much tonight-Wright didn't look good in the part of the game I watched-Eric your Monta took a very bad fall and was helped off the court in the 4th qtr...went baseline and was jammed going up for Dunk by Weems and/or Amir Johnson and fell awkwardly his knees hyperextended ..his lower half landing flat-footed but w/his upper body almost horizontal in such a way as to torque his torso/back and neck violently as he tried to straighten up...

Hoop Social said...

Eric-Invaders searched in vain for picture of this hot model Graciela-sounds like good action(you moved in on Vilas' woman?)-I almost sold a 1953 drawing of Madrid to a Russian couple who used to live there Saturday night-they recogonized each building as my mom drew it back then-they'll be back to buy it I think,,Yannick is a cool dude..Martin was indeed the first Spaniard and only the the 3rd or 4th true European in the NBA(not this Dominique born in France or Bradley on AFB in Germany kind of thing)the earlist European I can think of is a Bulgarian PF who played for the Suns-can't rmember name-Martin had a brother who was great in Spainish league also like the Gasols of today...only for Real Madrid instead of Catalans from Barcelona like the Gasols

Hoop Social said...

Eric-Invaders still cyber- searching for this babe Gabriela..I found interesting note that Noah and Vilas won the tournament in Madrid in consecutive years-Vilas in '82 and Yannick in '83

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Mark, I see Graciela appeared a handful of Argentine films in the '70s, but I couldn't find any images either. If it makes you feel better, she wasn't really all that hot. I made much more interesting finds during my time in Madrid. My roommate once introduced me a woman named Frances Hicks, whose father, Jim Hicks, played in the majors for a time. She was unforgivably hot, but, sadly, I failed to capitalize on that opportunity.

Fernando Martin was the first pro in Spain to play in the NBA. I remember this because I saw him play here. Ramon Ramos, who I saw fling Charles Barkley on his ass like a ragamuffin, was twice the talent of the somewhat inhibited Martin. Both of them were Blazers I was proud of exceeding in income off the Blazers, albeit in an, at the time, nefarious way. Ramos deserved a paycheck more than Audie Norris, a fan fave for hitting a buzzer beater to knock the Mavs out of the playoffs in '85.

Today at Good Sam where I volunteer, I was talking to my source for the job Stan Baunhofer, a former ER Commission member who remembers Lee Fahrenkamp, the ER Commission Chief in the eighties who rejected my lobbyist Diana Godwin's pleas to legalize scalping. He said, "let's see how long the appealer lasts." I outlasted him on the ER Com. I told Stan Vic Atiyeh scalped. It didn't surprise him. Now ticket dealers online don't have to explain to their wives why they're being busted on (KGW's) 11:00 news like I had to do.

I had a good laugh today reading Harry Glickman's "surprise" at Mo Lucas reading every word of his first contract with the Blazers. The longest sell-out string in the NBA by Glickman's Blazers resulted from counting "returned season" tickets being available for those week night winter games made available at game time to limit scalper action.

My story may not be as market worthy as my opponent E-Team's near & actual conquests of girls on film. I only hope my writing was easy enough to understand.

My Dad used to chauffeur babes to tennis star Vitas Gerulaitis house. He had a recording studio where he taught John McEnroe some Spanish guitar licks. Before he died in the beach house from a faulty exhaust from the heating system, Gerulaitis invited Dad inside for one his and McEnroe's jams. Dad, like E-Team and his throwing a super-modelout of bed, refrained from partaking in the good life. Now Dad needs an adult diaper, which would be the least of E-Team's worries as the father of a teen daughter.

Invaders like Tom's story but once is enough-is there an echo in here?Interesting about your dad w/Gerulitas and McEnroe..I suppose we should give JRB the benefit of the doubt on Gay-he's been fantastic so far this season...Georgi Gluchov was the Suns Bulgarian forward in the mid 80's.. I saw him against Warriors in '86-He and Martin were the first 2 Europeans to ever to be drafted by the NBA...Europe was a great place for young American guys to get laid-that's why I went back so many times but in Spain and Portugal it was the Northern European girls on vacation in warm climate you could score with...I went to school in the south of France one college summer and had more differnt girlfriends in a month or two than I'd had in my whole life!!Some of the best memories of my life were while in Europe...I never got laid in Madrid but the resorts of Andalusia particularly around Malaga were loaded w/hot babes..Majorca and Ibiza were even better....in 1987 I spent almost 6 full months in Europe and Israel

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Gluchov was no Zarko Paspalj.

Hoop Social said...

Invaders think Zarko was possibly the slowest guy I ever saw play in the NBA who actually handled the ball a lot.Larry Brown couldn't stand him when he coached the Spurs-Georgi wasn't too fast either but could rebound-Zarko was like Kukoc in ultra slow motion-Georgi was the definiton of white men can't jump-these early experiments in a new source of white minutes for the provincal fans were doomed to failure...

Hoop Social said...

Here's the first early scores of this match period Kontrol?(waiting for Sacramento/OKC/Hou) P4 152 P4(Paul-26/Pierce-34/G.Wallace-14/Dirk-34/B.Lopez-28/Griffin-16)I'd guess P4 will lose to Kontrol w/such a low total but there's other low scores tonight....Kontrol would go to 4-1

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Kontrol is on fire.

E Team is all the way in with a 218. That looks pretty healthy next to Ticket's 147 with Scola to go.

Hoop Social said...

Eteam-223 Ticket-147+Scola-looks like another W for the Eteam E(LBJ-49/D.Lee-31/Monta-38/S.Jax-26/LaMarcus-42/Noah-37)Ticket(Bogut-16/JoeJ-32/Wade-47/Mo Will-13/Deron-39/Scola-?)

You guys missed out on what a Mo Lucas joke ball busting prick Harry Glickman (like my ex-boss Goodman) was. Of course you skirt chasers never had to deal with monopolizing competition eliminators.

As for the slowest NBA player, just look back at Spain's Sabonis' striding around the Rose Garden in his mock ski boots. I don't know why he was never introduced with music by the Turtles.

My Dad tells scores of celebrity stories if that's what you guys find most entertaining. Jackie O, Astor descendants, Indy driver Peter Revson...quite dull compared to the unlikely passage of this nobody's quixote-esque challenges with this city's most established yidiots Glickman & Goodman. "Just saying," TO QUOTE E-TEAM.
