Ticket says
P4=92+King,Hump.,Mambo
Noah 30
Batum 33
Wall 29
Ticket=75+Tim Duncan,Josh Smith,Dwyane Wade,Deron Williams
Misap 42
Jennings 33

This is about 200+ scorers,so 17 may be an advantage for Ticket with an extra man, but Kobe has one less man than Bynum to share shots with besides Pau. 50's out of King & Kobe should do the trick, unless matched by Ticket's "mercurial" Josh Smith, according to SI. Smith goes for seven 50's & two 40's in 19 March games, while Kobe goes for six 40's & two 50's IN 18 GAMES since the end of FebruaRY.

Partial scores P4 92-Ticket 75 Germans still have Lebron/Kobe/Humphrey.. Ticket has Duncan/Smith Wade and Deron Williams..Wingos 146 awaiting Lawson my Invaders 84 w/Lee/Wallace and Gortat to go(and you did have Ubaldo hit Troy!)

Hoop Social said...

Ticket was writing score while Invaders were calculating belatedly.. I was at little league game and then watched Kentucky-Kansas final at nearby watering hole afterward..

Hoop Social said...

Ticket also says
Lebron begins March with three 50's followed by five 40's but hasn't logged 40 since March 16Wade has nine 40's over same span as LeBron, but only two of them since march 16.

Ticket says to Invaders
While Eric and I were watching from 15 rows up in the corner the Wolves & Blazers vie for last place at the Rose Garden yesterday, we were joined by the likes of Thabeet,Flynn & Hersey Hawkins in street clothes watching a big brother in the second level behind the Blazer bench resist arrest by six security guards and one of Portland's finest.

Great start to the championship series. Ticket's Milsap goes big, but the solid numbers from Batum and Noah may be equally important.

Looks to me like all remaining players have reason to put up strong numbers, with the possible exception of Ticket's Josh Smith, who goes Wednesday night at home against a really shitty Charlotte team. If he plays limited minutes and goes sub-30ish, the Germans may not need 50s from LBJ and Kobe.

I see both teams landing in the low 200s and a close match.

Good stuff.

E Team says:

No freakin' way! Wade a late scratch! Is there no end to DNPs determining champions in this league? Will this dominate the agenda of the rules committee meeting in the off-season?

The irony is that the Nitecaps, who are likely to be among the loudest voices in favor of some sort of DNP-mitigation effort, may continue to stand alone as a three-time champion by virtue of the DNP.

Will Ticket have to win two straight for a title? Or have the fantasy gods sided with the Germans?

Hoop Social said...

Invaders solution to DNP epidemic is 7 man lineups-you guys have suggested it as a designated 7th only to cover for a DNP but I think the extra player(playing all 7) would lessen the effect of DNPs to the extent needed-since rarely are there 2 DNPs per team(except this strange shortened season)

Hoop Social said...

Invaders record Duncan w/19 and added to Wade DNP it looks grim for Ticket

Lebron w/55 Invaders calculate score as P4 147 Ticket 94 Kobe for Germans and Josh/Deron looks like a 1-0 lead for the pride of Prussia(not sure where in Germany the Teutons are from)

An interesting question you pose, Mark. According to my research, the Krebs name first appeared in maritime Prussia in the 5th Century, brought by a Slavic tribe called the Pommern who would give the region its name, Pomerania. (I've provided a link to the family crest. Note the lobster.)

Manseth, as far as I can tell, is a Norwegian surname. I don't know if the given name Hans suggests a German influence of some kind. I guess you'd have to ask him.

Invaders first time seeing the Lakers play the Warriors around 1964 the enemy had a center named Jim Krebs who was about 6-8 or 6-9-he committed 3 fouls in about 5 minutes against Wilt and had to sit in favor of string bean Leroy Ellis and larger Gene Wiley both of whom couldn't stop Wilt who had at least 45 points and 25 rebounds that night-Baylor was hurt and wore a knee brace

E Team said...

E Team says:

Ah, Leroy Ellis. The first Blazer center. How I remember him battling villains like Bob Rule and Nate Thurmond.

Funny, when Tom and I were at the Wolves game the other night, there was the old, grizzled coaching eminence Rick Adelman, the guy I saw handling the point for the original Blazers, alongside my hero Geoff Petrie.

Time does pass.

I agree with Mark, seven starters.
Good luck to Tickets and P4's.

E Team said...

E Team says:

Seven starters is considerably more work for the commissioner. I would lean toward a designated sub, whose numbers would be halved in the event of a DNP. Or something like that. And maybe then only in the playoffs.

Partial scores Championship-P4 221 Ticket 124 awaiting Josh tomorrow night..3rd place-Invaders 186 Wingos 146 w/Lawson still to play..in the NIT it's BDLK 148+Rondo Belvederes 138+Pierce Leroy Ellis played a long time w/those skinny legs long arms and nice outside touch for a guy 6-11

E Team said...

E Team says:

I guess the good news for Ticket is that Wade might not have gotten him a W anyway.

Nice 221 from the Jerries. That's championship form.

C'mon, Tom. Bring that Hebrew Hammer! You can do it.

Sans first pick, Ticket asks
Another time to face the German music?

From H.L. Mencken's memoirs:

Dr. Karl Muck, who had been conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, had been interned after his dismissal during World War I somewhere in Tennessee where he found more than a hundred other German musicians. On a very hot day they played Beethoven's Eroica Symphony stark naked. "It was," said Muck, "a really magnificent performance, though the heat was hard on the violin strings."

Reminds me of some hillbilly song about the devil goes down to Georgia...and the last time I lost to the duel devils.

E Team says:

The Knee! One win from an NIT title!

E Team said...

E Team says:

Mark, don't forget, there's a seventh-place game between Swat and the Nitecaps, right?

Hoop Social said...

Eric- Invaders didn't know of 7th place game -Dave submitted a lineup but Swat didn't-so I need reconstruct a box?Final Invaders take 1-0 lead in 3rd place game w/186-177 victory over Wingos Invaders(Gortat-34..Wallace-26..Lee-40..Paul-24..Monta-30..Ilyasova-30)HW(Scola-41..Dirk-25..Gay-22..Tyreke-43..Lawson-31..Gooden-15)

Hoop Social said...

Invaders calculated Swat defeated Nitecaps 154-131 in first of 3 for 7th place-will provide box if anyone needs it..

Hoop Social said...

Wallace had 28 not 26 for Invaders but total is correct 186

E Team said...

E Team says:

Mark, the consolation rounds in both the Big Dance and the NIT are just one game.

You and the Knee have won. Now just back on out of here.

E Team said...

E Team says:

Yeah, that's my bad. Two teams advance to play a best of three, the losers play a single match as consolation. I don't know why I was saying the Knee needed another win.

Must've been late at night.

Sorry.

E Team said...

E Team says:

Oh wait, the Knee does need another win. He's in the winners' bracket.

I'm going to sleep.
