Three to play and here's the deal: Only one team - the E Team - stands between the Invaders and the regular season crown, and Mark could take care of that with a win over the Wingos along with an E Team loss.
The E Team's magic number to clinch home court is one - either a win or a Swat or Sockeye loss, one of which will happen when those two square off in Match 38.
Swat and the rookie Sockeye are currently tied for third, although Sean holds the points tiebreaker. The Nitecaps and Ticket are tied a game and a half behind them, with Dave holding the points tiebreaker.
The winner of Swat-Sockeye will not clinch a Big Dance spot, nor will the loser of the 'Caps-Ticket match be eliminated, but the magic or tragic number for either will be reduced to one.
And the Germans' nightmare season could still end on a high note if they can close a gap of a game and a half on Wingo in the remaining three. That would give them a reason to show up for a postseason beer, since they wouldn't have to buy a round.
Much drama still to play out, people.
