Ticket faces a formidable P4 with a 200 type of team this Spring. A loss to P4 opens the door to Swat who has to win three in a row against the Invincibles for a shot at a second title. Sockeye secured third place.

E Team says:

Tom's right. A tough matchup for him against the Germans, who would probably love to play the spoiler.

But Sean may face an even tougher task, taking on the regular season champion Invaders.

With Swat weakened by the loss of his Kyrie, the league's Competition Committee will be on high alert at the Invaders-Swat showdown, where Mark could theoretically try to improve Sean's chances of advancing to face him. (Not accusing you of anything, Mark. Just sayin.)

E Team:

And hey, Tom, not to get too pointed about this, but how are you feeling about the league's Competitive Imperative Principle now?

Shall we allow Mark to rest his starters against Swat with you fighting for the last Big Dance spot?

Mark was incorrect about the season-high MHS in Match 39.

I was just guessing on the season high but with 5 of the top 8 totals Eric should of outscored me so it means he had great disparity in his point totals(a high beta in statistical parlance)-I was intending on playing my top lineup never thinking about the playoff implications.Because I believe Lamarcus is unlikely to play this Mon/Tues Florida road trip I will start Demarcus/Love/Gay/Waiters/Lawson and Vucevic-this isn't resting starters I think Waiters is primed to outplay Klay the rest of the way with Kyrie out.Besides scoring look at his assist totals this guy can play his only issue is a poor shooting pct.and Vucevic should do well against the likes of Lopez and Dorel Wright on the second game of a back to back (not to mention the distractions of South Beach?)

Ticket says
MY past comes back to haunt me now that Popo-vaders squats Klay sans late grandparent and LA, his third headed monster. Like to see him test the Blazer big on crutches next Friday when I try to repeat my.2-1-2 postseason performance in 2013. Of course I realize I appear to wear a Sixer jersey to the leader, who has yet to lose to Ticket. If luck smiles upon me, then E Team can also claim five wins vs Ticket this year. I am 19-8-1 against the rest of the league.
I go
Gortat
Zbo
Smello
Josh
DeRozan
I Tom

Never questioned your integrity, Mark. Just wanted to issue a restatement of league principles.

Goin' small.

Durant, ADave, GMon, Kemba, Bledsoe, Teague

Sub Andre Drummond for Spencer Hawes

I think my team suffered from a lack of defense, giving up a whopping 8 MHS.

at first glance Tom I thought you had a new player "I go"

E Team:

The Westbrook non-injury is an obvious plus for Ticket, but also a break for whoever is playing the E Team, which is gotten titanic numbers from Durant when the guy is out.

Just a thought.

Can't believe we're at Match 40. Another long winter made a bit livelier by this odd fraternity of misfits and their supposed knowledge of the Association.

Tom my friend the rock poster dealer got a 1968 jazz festival poster that had everything from the abstract cacophony of Thelonis Monk to the softer sounds of Herbie Hancock and Wes Montgomery the reason I mention this is Cecil Taylor was also on the bill as I recall we saw him together in NY at Sweet Basil in the Village? or was it the Vanguard? it was in 2005 I think...

Everybody!! we have a bit of an issue before the playoffs-The Warriors appear to be a late call they don't play until Friday this complicates my game with Swat as he will play Curry the Wingos will play Lee which only affects who finishes last-How do we address this with the playoffs due to start Friday?Warriors do play Sunday so I suppose if Ticket wins it isn't an issue but if he loses the playoffs would wait for Swat's Curry??Delay to following Monday???

Hoop Social said...

Ticket says
The playoffs begin Fri. Normally a second match in same match period counts for that time frame. Of course that deprives klay of a second chance. Same for Curry if he pulls the carpet out from under my stepping up to the dance.

We could not have been in the Vanguard Mark since it is in a cellar with no windows on 6th ave. We waited on side street to enter. I listen nights to jazz on a station out of Newark that plays the artists from the fifties to nineties.

Hey E Team. I am rooting for you since you beat Mr. B to open the door to my fantasy bb throne. I may not know the NBA as well as I would like to think, but the broadcasts are better than baseball broadcasts. Our league has kept my impaired capabilities of maintaining relationships at least existent. Otherwise I would just keep to my bad self.

Hoop Social said...

Ticket sees in miiddle age the downside of just win baby. Due to late call Fri., he has option of subbing klay for waiters on Sat., even if Cav plays Fri. There is no time left to skip a match period as dnps are more likely later in April.

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

But Tom how can we start the playoffs without knowing who's in them?If you lose and Swat is waiting for Curry's total to beat me to get 4th place then Friday at 4pm we'd have no idea which team I'm playing. So we'd just put lineups out Friday without knowing the pairings??You and Sean would have no idea if you're in the big dance or NIT but I suppose it could be done that way-Warriors play Sunday so everybody would still have a 2nd game to use Curry/Lee and Klay

Ticket says
First post season to begin against an unknown opponent. Looks like double the work if you are scoring at home.

My first thought was if a Warrior is hurt Friday, owners must have the option to remove him from the next lineup. But if that is not so, it would be asking too much from a playoff opponent to allow a change just because of a crappy game.

E Team said...

E Team says:

You guys have it right. There is no choice but to use Friday's Golden State game for Match 40 and the Sunday game for Round 1, Match 1.

Remember, everybody makes the playoffs, so whoever has Warrior guys will have to confirm them by deadline on Friday. The second chance goes away, but hey, tough shit. Not all teams have second-chance games every match period.

Good catch, Mark.

Suck it.

Will be in attendance tomorrow night at The Garden for for a "classic" end of season match up between the Raptors and my Boston Celtics.

Wish you were here.

Gay will be gay and Cousins will double technical and be kicked out from the game for being a douche bag.

Invaders had it all planned this way...

Late,
swat
