Ticket asks Mark,
In lieu of 12 dying from a week after Veterans Day snow storm, the "Detroit" Bills hosting N.Y. reminds me of the Clips hosting the Blazers in the Thomas and Mack Center in. Vegas due to the Rodney King riots. How many relocations can you recall in NBA history?

I can't recall any specific relocated games in the NBA but I believe there were several in the ABA late 60's and in the early 70's there were 2 regional franchises the Carolina Cougars and Virginia Squires and I believe they did some swapping due to weather and other reasons between the 3 cities they each played in essentially becoming barnstorming teams something that's been done for years in minor league baseball.Perhaps the KC-Omaha Kings did similar things.I think this was more common in the 50's in the NBA with a mostly northeastern and upper midwest franchise base.I believe some of the smaller cities like Syracuse/Rochester and Fort Wayne welcomed inclement weather to relocate games to larger markets

E Team:

The E Team and Sockeye were in attendance at the Moda tonight for the Blazers' rout of the short-handed Bulls.

We were musing about how long it had been since the Blazers were involved in any kind of tussle with an opponent and no sooner had the second half started than the Lake Oswego product Mike Dunn-Leavy went all flagrant on Damion Lillard and made himself Public Enemy No. 1 with local fans. Wes Matthews went after Jr. and gave a one-handed jack in the chest, then the Seattle native Aaron Brooks tracked Matthews down and gave him one in response. Things calmed down after that, with LaMarcus doing a pretty impressive peacekeeping bit wrapping up Jimmy Butler.

It was all fairly mild but entertaining. I argued with Sockeye that both Matthews and Brooks did what they had to do. A scrub like Dunleavy takes a shot at your best player, somebody's gotta get in his face. But when Wes put some wood on the guy, Brooks had to go a little Lake Washington on him.

I like where my Blazers are right now. More muscle, more bench, plenty of youth, stars on the rise or in their prime. I say they're Top 4 in the West by the end of the year.

Bulls-Blazers, Ticket says
18 k for four court sides sold to former broker Murray's in LA. Five Bulls remain on floor in 3 ot when Corzine then fouls out. A tech and possesion for Blazers if Corzine fouls again. Mychal Thompson fouls Ennis Whatley on a 3 point play to end the game after I disrupted Darnell Valentine's free throw hoping for a fourth ot. Wish I was there to heckle Lake O...verated Jr.

Friday at 5 PST for sup. Draft?

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

You meant Sunday 5pm of course Tom and my Warriors are 9-2 after beating the Jazz one of the league's worst road teams last night despite only 8 from Curry

Wingos unavailable this Sunday. Have we tanked appropriately for first pick, in which case I can send in my selection, or are we still on draft order?

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

Hawthorne-I will have to check if all the games will be completed tonight but if they are and you lose or if anyone has a player Sunday in an undecided game you then certainly could send in an early selection

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

The Clippers will be playing Sunday so the 7 match standings determine the draft order. Wingos may make a selection any time between now and 5:05 tomorrow

Mark, do you concur with my thinking on the Sockeye picks or did he pick up a couple guys and I missed it?

If not, I say he picks up one in his assigned spot and two more later. Is that fair? Anybody else with thoughts on the matter?

Would Sockeye set a precedent by exceeding a supplemental draft limit of two by ignoring previous supplemental drafts? I could then drop everyone except Harden and Gay and acquire 13 dead in the Buffalo snow storm and only be 60 points worse than my match 8 lineup.
I do not care what you tell someone to do in order to eliminate Kontrol from the sked. Speaking of the sked, are we still on for 40 games?

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

no decision yet on schedule-Sockeye should go ahead and take his 2 guys
