Wall vs E Team. Thanks for pic taken of NY vs Blazers. Strickland first guy who comes to mind in the Rolo vs Plumlee relocation to the two top towns in my book. Those nba and world series titles Mark gets to basque in does make me envious. Dave's place impressive, as is Vegas.

Tom Basque refers to northeastern Spain(San Sebastian is a wonderful city) and southwestern/south central France residents who speak the only non Indo-European language in Europe and have very long odd last names. Many came to Nevada as shepherds in the 19th century. As a result the University of Nevada is a world leader in Basque studies. You are correct I'm basking in those titles as you suggest.....

For clarification, most of the Basque shepards who came to the western US did not come directly from Spain but rather South America. It is true that Idaho is the only place outside of Spain where the Basque language is taught, and that the state has had at least one governor of Euskadi (the Basque word) descent.

There are a fair number of Basques in Eastern Oregon, too. It's where the name Irrigon came from. (When the dragon movie "Aragon" came out, it occurred to me that a person could go see Aragon in Irrigon, Oregon. Like that?

Yes I do like that.Eastern Nevada/Idaho/Eastern Oregon are prime Basque sheep country. The Basque language is taught at the university in Reno but I'm not sure if it is still at a primary or secondary school level in Nevada. When I lived in Reno I met one guy who came from England(Cambridge to do his doctorate at Nevada in Basque studies. He told me of a project to find all the trees and rocks in the mountains of eastern Nevada(and over the border into Idaho and Oregon)that shepherds carved Basque words into. The majority of the earliest Spanish arrivals to South America were from the Canary Islands which was logical because it was a mandatory stop en route in the days of wind power. When I visited I saw the home Columbus stayed in before moving on to America in 1492.The islands were quickly overpopulated and the local population which frequently found work as crews on passing ships was mixed with the native Canarian Guanches a Berber tribe that arrived centuries earlier from the Maghreb area which is primarily Algeria.Basques and Galicians were among the many persecuted minorities of Spain that were happy to emigrate first to the Canaries and later to the new world. The recent converts from Judaism after the Inquisition were also very willing to leave for the Americas from Spain.Fidel Castro traces his ancestry to these ancient Jews as do the earliest families who founded the oldest continually inhabited city in America Santa Fe.

Nice work, Mark. This is what fantasy basketball is all about.
