It was me Invaders loan defender of Josh Smith-when you saw LaMarcus destroy him he was most likely dead tired on a western swing-I've seen him shut down lots of top 3's and 4's m,any times in games on tv(probably at home)he plays a lot like Dan Roundfield and Roy Hinson did exceptional leapers who were undersized 4's and 5's but Josh is better than they were quick enough to play 3-and Eric what's wrong w/weak side shot blocking all skilled leapers do that but few if any non centers...it's essentially playing your own man and the ball all the time it really enhances your club if you have a guy that can provide that kind of help on d...

Partial scores-Invaders 137+Lowry and Joe John Wingos-116+DWill...Mr.B is in the books w/158 Swat has 135 awaiting Tony Parker...Dave's Caps looking very strong w/194 waiting his Italian power forward who used to be the 5 at Toronto-Eteam looking a little too much like last season's squad has 123 awaiting the "big fundamental"(easily the worst nickname ever coined)from the Alamo

Mark, No discounting J. Smith's defensive skills. But, at the offensive end he is like Zach Randolph in Portland. In the event the ball does resurface after he touches it there are precious few ticks on the clock left.

After ending my one hour career handing out flyers for a Russian Republican running for NY Senate, I took the buses B43>B41 from Kings Plaza in Sheepshead Bay (border of decimatd Rockaway) to Flatbush Ave. & Foster>F. A. & Atlantic to Barclay Center. 6 cops standing around doing nothing the day after line jumpers riled the mobs using a makeshift shuttle into Man. They should call it Starbucks Center since the station style store dominates the view of the low slung jagged building with a Net lit web motif. Star Wars era architecture stealth at night. Day time just a mini Penn Station. 6 subway lines go there. The LIRR to Borough Hall where my grandfather practiced law is nearby. A 10 mile jaunt to MSG. Back to Backs in April would make a top dollar ticket if both vie for playoffs.

No marathon. Good thing the unfed remain behinders on Staten Island won't get to select fitness freaks for the cannibal clam bake. Candlestick in Frisko felt like that after the crowd cleared out of the World Series opener in '89.

Invader compares my Smooth to the drowned 48 year old Roundfield, who died in the kaleidescope colored sea in Aruba this year. I saw the Eddie Johnson point guard for the Hawks (not the KC/Sacto King phenom Eddie Johnson) feed "Shaft" as I called him to easy helpings. The knock on scorers these days may have a bit to do with the over paid points who no longer run defenses ragged.

Josh Smith probably plays harder when he's nationally televised-selfish. I guarantee the Hawks have losing record during his tenure. Atlanta summary during the last 7 years: Johnson iso, Smith iso, Pachulia moving screen, Horford hurt- Hawks lose by 17 and sneak into the playoffs to be bounced immediately.

I think Mr. B makes Invader point-Hawk record isn't good for Smith tenure because of lack of stellar supporting cast-w/out Smith Hawks never "sneak"into playoffs(even though spots 5 through 8 are easier to get in the east)-By my calculation Smith is the 3rd greatest forward in Hawk history behind Dominique and the great Bob Pettit who most of you guys are too young to remember I'd guess --he was the star of the St.Louis Hawks fed by the greatest Hawk point guard Lennie Wilkens

Ticket reference to Eddie Johnson reminds Invaders that his nickname was "psycho" Eddie around the NBA because of his bizzare mood swings later identified as the then mis-understood bi-polar condition-they just called him chemically(what type of chemicals?)imbalanced-an incredibly fast player with the ball in his hands very few points could stop him from penetrating-at Warrior game I attended when the straight hard working Eddie Johnson of the KC Kings heard some dumb Warrior fans yelling "psycho" at him thinking he was the "other"Eddie he was clearly offended

I guess my question is; supporting cast or the star's style of play? Smitty is no doubt top 3 forwards all time on the Hawks...but I'm not sure that says much.
By the way, what is the deal with the high security on this blog? Why do I have to go through retina identification and solve a soduku puzzle every time I post?
Just sayin'..

E Team says:

Far too much Josh Smith talk on here. Fitting that 'Nique's name would come up. Another bone-headed stat-grubber who never took his team anywhere.

And yes, looks like the X-Man will easily take down the lifeless E Team. Yikes, I took the wrong Milwaukee guard.

Hey, has the Harden trade given the Germans the leg up on the rest of the league? Is the guy going to lead the NBA in scoring? Wow.

Go Ducks.

Mr.B -Invaders get on blog quite easy via a link to the blog from last year and I stay signed in-I can email you that link if you want-it's what I sent to P4-no more Josh Smith talk but Dominique's supporting cast was far superior twin towers Tree Rollins/Willis/ up front and Rivers a very large athletic combo point/shooting guard who played both ends of the floor w/everything he had-the weak spot was Randy Wittman-they still tried to start a few white guys who weren't good enough in those days before the influx of the better Europeans-we're past that now I thought until I saw Denver starting Koufos over McGee at 5-maybe Karl's just trying to motivate Javale who's probably the best shot blocker in the league
