Planning to go see the movie "Fast Break" at the fabulous Hollywood Theater tomorrow. Not the Gabe Kaplan vehicle, but the highly regarded documentary about the Blazers' championship season in '77.
By the way, I assume you guys all watched "The Battered Bastards of Baseball," the awesomely good documentary about the old Portland Mavericks? It's on Netflix. Give yourself a Christmas treat and watch it.

I was just down at the Shell station on 33rd and NE Broadway, filling up my daughter's truck, when this conspicuously prosperous young family pulls up behind us in an enormous BMW sedan. Handsome dad, blonde wife, two young kids in the back. I'm musing about how perfect they are, then I realize, hey, it's Joey Harrington.
When the attendant brings me the receipt for the gas, I ask him "Hey, you know who that is behind me?" He goes, "Yeah, that's Joey Harrington."
Harrington's grandfather was a quarterback at the University of Portland and his dad at U of O. They say former Oregon coach Len Casanova sent his parents a letter of intent when he was born.
