E Team:

Thoroughly enjoyed a nite out at the Moda with the 17-year old son. The Freak is awesome, but the Blazers slowed him big time with Aminu and Evan Turner defending, and the Bucks had no answer for 3.J. McCollum.

Very nice win. Rip City, baby.

I completely disagree with logic of multiple position backups espoused by Wingos and Nitecaps as veterans of many other formats (ESPN/Yahoo/etc.) I dare them to name a fantasy universe where you can designate a backup for a position they are not slotted for(utility excepted)? It's ludicrous to assume that we should allow unlimited position flexibility to players that are only to be used in the case of a DNP twice! Under such logic we should do away with positions totally for the starting 5 and make them all like our 6th guy (utility in other formats)Why would backups have more freedom than the starters? Wingos logic of being like real basketball would make sense if the starters could be used anywhere as well I can't understand why Dave would be against the sub plan if we take away the ability to make them all super subs. This position permissiveness has spread like a contagion from the viral Yahoo practices involving player position shape shifting! This lack of position parameters for players that aren't even supposed to play is ridiculous..

Eric I wish I'd played Kanter instead of my new Galinari at 6 ...Fizdale doesn't start him but I'll never sit him again when he's healthy

E misunderstands Wingo?Cap position. We don't think the backup should be able to play any position. He should, however, be able to play and be listed for multiple positions that he is eligible for. Straw man!

Sorry E, Mark - I think you misunderstand Wingo/Caps position, see above.

Mark, Wingos actually are 171 not 170. That point could be crucial in Fox vs. Simmons matchup...

Hawthorne I have Kemba-42...Butler-31...Freak-38...DJordan-24...Tobias 35 which guy do you have with the extra point? I do understand I get the Bledsoe example as backup to both guards that he's allowed to play for fantasy. I'm adamantly opposed because it makes subs more valuable than starters. It would completely change draft strategy and circumvents the logic of having to wait to have a full 15 man roster before installing the new system. Why wasn't this point addressed when we were discussing when to implement the new backup plan? it was never part of the arguments I recall, I'm still opposed because you can't allow extra flexibility for a reserve that isn't afforded to a starter.

E Team:

That's nice. Aldridge goes 2 of 14 from the field against Miami.

E Team:

And Hassan Whiteside goes for a fantasy 60 with nine blocks.

Were all the shots he blocked Aldridge's?

@Mark . I think I misunderstood the proposal. I would never suggest that you back up a player with one that doesn't play that position. I was say something like this...using the same player to back up multiple positions (of which they where designated).

Ben Simmons (CJ McCollum)
Luka Doncic (CJ McCollum)
Nicola Mirotic (D. Smith)
Draymond Green (M. Harell)
Nikola Jokic (M. Harell)
Jrue Holiday (CJ McCollum)

Dave if you look above to my last post before the score in my game with ETeam I do understand using backups at more than one position as long as they're eligible for those positions and I'm still totally against it It means we didn't have to worry about drafting the other 3 guys if you had multi-position possible for the backups. It means that backups who only play after 2 dnps have more manipulative ability than the starter. If I have Lebron starting and I can't just use him at both 3 and 4 whichever I need for more points then he's less valuable than a backup. That's not acceptable .If you have one starter at one position then you can only use one backup at one position. To do it as you're suggesting means you actually benefit from dnps because you have the use of your high scoring multi-position players. If a starter can only be used at one position each match then it must be exactly the same limitation for the designated backup one position only. This system requires posting 12 different players. We talked about this as to backups I thought.

E Team:

Wow. Must say, I'm a bit puzzled by this Wingo/Nitecap proposal for multi-duty backups. As Mark said, this somehow has never come up in all the discussion we've had since partway through last season. If it had, I'm not sure why we would've waited for full rosters to activate the new system. Most teams could probably have backed up their entire starting lineup with three guys.

My idea to designate one backup as DNP insurance got rejected because it doesn't conform to the fantasy football rule of backing up guys with others that play the same position. But it's somehow okay to have one player in two or three places at once? Does that happen in fantasy football?

Not to mention the fact that, in the X-Man's scenario above, if I burn CJ McCollum to replace, say, an injured PG, I no longer have any insurance at 2 or 6. Unless the proposal is that McCollum's number can be used twice in the event of a double DNP.

Surely no one thinks we're going to do that. And if not, we're not providing maximum mitigation, and I thought that was the whole idea.

E Team:

Confirming Invaders reporting.

Westbrook gets hurt and Aldridge stinks it up and for the second time in three matches the E Team loses to the only team that scored enough to beat him.

The injustice.

Final Wingos are winners beating Nitecaps 195-177 HW(same as above post on Wingo partial score add Fox-25)Caps (Simmons-36...Doncic-33...Mirotic-34...Dray-7...Jokic-26...Jrue-41) Final Swat beats Alt/Delete 201-191 SW(Lillard-23...Lavine-54...Tatum-24...Vucevic-28...KAT-41...Ayton-31) A/D(Conley-16...Oladipo-36...Kawhi-38...LBJ-45...Horford-23...Klay-33) Invaders win MHS again with 239

E Team said...

E Team:

Invaders have won five MHS in six matches?

That looks like seven guys getting worked on draft night.

I remember a season where the legendary Billy Poole (Big Panties) got off like that and went, like, 18-0 to start the season. Don't recall if he won the title. Ticket might remember. Back in the late 90s, I suppose. (Cue Sugar Ray soundtrack.) Wow.

Mark - Wingos Kemba was 43, not 42, methinks.

mrkmosier@gmail.com said...

You're correct Mr. Wingo I missed Kemba's one block so the score should be 196-177 over Nitecaps
