The now sorely repentant Wingos apologize to all for my blog frenzy. The simultaneous speaker non-conversation punctuated by mad attempts to properly type the secret passwords is a delicious rush, and I got too into it. I think our Commish was wise in his decision. I hope Mr. Ridnour, his lovely wife and special needs child are all very happy in Ticketville, U.S.A. Mea culpa...

The truth behind the scandal, however, is this:

The Wingos believe that if you have rules, esp. as to matters of timeliness, they should be enforced. But Wingo management knows this is not the case from his first draft experience, so I should not have gotten exercised today. Mr. Tick-Ett is right that essentially matters of timeliness have already been waived (our own waiver wire), although Wingo management, afflicted w/ OCD, wishes that were not the case. Wingos also recognize that they are rookies in this league, and that since this is based on the NBA, you know that the veterans should get the calls...

I just figured the Wingo had gotten ahold of some psychoactive substance, possibly left over from his youth in Berkeley - or from Mark, and seeing new dimensions to the whole supplemental experience.

Ooh, stinging indictment of our failure to enforce timeliness on draft day from the rookie. I like it. I expect it's a matter we will revisit at the appropriate time.

Speaking of which...

Just to clarify, the veteran Plus Four, steering a season of triumph toward the fateful next chapter, needs one win or an Invaders loss to clinch the regular season crown outright. (They already are guaranteed a share based on points differential.)
It is also clear that they will win the scoring title.

Next on the points-of-interest list, the Invaders have the slimmest of holds on the coveted No. 2 seed with four to play. Remember, the 1 and 2 seeds get the double jeopardy advantage unless 2 and three finish tied, which forces a best of three. That's one and done for the lower seed.

The Swat Team, meanwhile, is about one loss from becoming the last team to drop out of contention for the Big Dance.

And the ugly dogfight (I don't mean the fighting is ugly; I mean the dogs IN the fight are ugly) continues in the avoid-the-bar-tab sweepstakes at the bottom of the pile, with the E Team looking the mangiest.

I sent around an abbreviated Match 21 standings board in lieu of the official version, which will follow soon.

Hasta pronto, cabrones.

Invaders have determined that the winner of the Ticket-Wingo match will take over 2nd place-my Invaders haven't cracked 50 pts. w/the first 4 guys who have played vs Kontrol-this might be season low total first sub 100 game??

Ticket in fight for home court first round life with Wingo:
109 half way for Ticket. Jennings good for a US Grant.
Speaking of Grant, the day after our cat fight over "a player who will never be used," (as I think Nitecap reckoned), it was a cheap thrill to see Luke posterize Grant Hill in an Oregonian picture today.
A Wingo wet
A Wingo wet
A Wingo wet
A Wingo wet

The wet Wingos (I always wondered what they were saying in that song) look desperate in the Battle over Blaine, but the homer sportscasters note that if we project from the Monday scores the SRO Ticket will have an excellent 118, yet lose to the MHS (on LSD) Wingos with 234. Stay tuned til Wednesday for this one, while both Wingos and Ticket (in secret collaboration) gloat over stipendous grudge match sales... Also, after one game my forcemeat alternate had 30 points while Cool Hand Ridnour had 24... Thanks for saving me from myself... Wingos out

Invaders await the sixer game tomorrow for the other 3 finals-P4 and Kontrol look like winners over the E's and my Invaders while the Caps-BDLK game is too close to call

Wingos believe that this is the one time they can politically-correctly blame something on it being Gay...

INVADERS TRADED DEADLINE NEWS!!!Howard has agreed to sign a no-ETO(early termination option) agreement tonight meaning he's w/the Magic through this season-D'Antoni resignation was actually a firing that was termed resignation by Knicks so he could collect the rest of his contract that ended this year-he wanted to trade Melo for DWill(making Lin part of a 3 guard rotation) which Knick brass rejected-Williams trade now looks like the big deal we're waiting for tonight as the Howard-DWill show in Brooklyn next year has been shut down...meanwhile in other deals look for Crawford/Kaman/Beasley/Diaw as the most likely to go

Hoop Social said...

Howard after conference w/agent informed Magic he will not waive his ETO therefore he is still being offered in trades-Nets dream not dead yet-it looks to Invaders that Williams and Howard will be together next year in either Brooklyn or Dallas
