E Team says:

Mark is right that Ticket has clinched 2nd place in the regular season; Tom's points advantage ensures that.
But remember, if two playoff opponents have the same won-loss record, the series switches from double jeopardy to a straight best-of-three.

Huge showdown between the Invaders and Wingos in Match 25, while Ticket has one piece of unfinished regular season business with the unpredictable Swat Team.

Invaders are happy to hear this news as I was under the impression I had lost to Tom the advantage of 2nd place-we both thought the total points would be the tie breaker-I'm sure Tom won't like this- it's up to you veterans to determine the proper format for the playoffs based on past years as I haven't been here long enough to rule on this-of course I can easily end up 4th if I don't beat Hawthorne's crew this weekend..

E Team says:

This came up many years ago in a playoff matchup, as I recall it, between the E Team and, incredibly, Mike Starzec's Bunglers. (They didn't make many playoff appearances.)

Someone - okay, it was probably the E Team - suggested that double jeopardy was far too great an advantage to give to a team whose won-loss record was identical to its opponent.
The points tiebreaker would determine order of finish, which could involve cash prizes and other considerations, but the playoff format would be equalized to reflect the parity of the teams.

The ruling was made on the fly, as sometimes happens in a league as unique and homegrown as this one, but the vote confirmed the above principle.

Remember, we had to make a similar decision a couple seasons ago when two teams finished tied for first place at the end of the regular season, something that had never happened.
We decided that you can't call someone the regular season champion when another team has the same won-loss record. We awarded a co-championship with a split pot and used the points tiebreaker to determine the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Settled law.

The struggling yet tenacious Wingos go back to the Black Hole (hoping he'll be the Black Whole) for the season finale:
D. Howard
D. Nowitzki
R. Gay
T. (TBH/W) Evans
T. Lawson
D. Gooden

Ticket says
So the points advantage,as of Spring 2012, no longer determines what seed a tied-in-standings playoff team captures?
When do we expand the playoffs to include NIT entries? (sic) I do not recall the 1st round ever having a three game possibility other than for the reason that there was a tie and an underdog victory before the conclusive game to enter the finals. Since my memory requires assistance, can I get a little help on the past finals appearances.

When NC doesn't make the playoffs for 11 years then wins 3 of the last 4 titles, why can't I recall who fell to NC? I must still be in a state of shock.

Ticket says
I'll root 4 Invaders despite the fact I have home court ad over Wingo. Who knows? The closer we get to Kobe's division title, the less likely he'll benefit P4.
My greater concern is there are holes in hoops social blog's security this scheming, play by no fair means rookie will resort to. That's why Wingo deserves us.

The 6th leading scorer in NBA history, according to this year's Lakers media guide, is older in terms of years played, than this league. Kobe's unbelievable. He trails Kareem,Wilt,Karl,Elvin & who?

Invaders say it goes 1)Kareem 2)Karl 3)Michael and 4)Wilt-Kobe now 5th after passing Shaq

E Team says:

Don't grovel. It's unseemly.

Beat the league's sixth-best team and grab yourself a well-deserved double-jeopardy advantage.

Or don't. It makes no nevermind to me.

Invaders go w/same lineup of literary(and other fields of endeavour) giants that Eric enjoyed- the robot-Gort/Gen.(not director Ang)Lee/Braveheart/Sir Edmund Hillary(he climbed the highest Monta)/Les(definitely not Ru or Ron) Paul/Washington Irving(a much better writer than John or the fraud Clifford)

I thought the Germans won their title faster than that. Interesting.
The E Team defeated Big Panties in '06, the tenth year of the league.
I believe Dave defeated the Hammers the following year.
I think YOU may have won in '08.
And One defeated Plus Four in '09.
Dave defeated the inert Drive By Shooters in '10.
Dave beat...P4? (I think I played Sean for 3rd. Who else could it have been?)
