League Office:

Wow, two guys getting the numbers exactly right. Must be the post-season.

Looks pretty straightforward to me. If Jockitch plays and DeRozan doesn't flame out, Ticket's 226 probably won't hold up against the Nitecaps. If Dave's golden Nugget can't go, it's likely Tom will head to the championship round. Dramatic.

Likewise, if Melo goes tomorrow night - and he now says he will - it's hard to see a path to victory for Wingo, who got a 10 from his Markieff. But there's some variables there.

And yes, Hans spotted the aforementioned snafu. The E Team, distracted by his own dimming fortunes, submitted an invalid lineup change, neglecting to include a shooting guard. I was all wrestling with the solution when I realized what had happened, but then remembered the correct ruling had been used just days before. Just as the XMan's attempted dive in Match 35 meant he needed to use his previous lineup, the E Team must stay with what he had previously.
That means ZBo's 20 goes away and the E Team sits at 159 against P4's 201 and awaits a number from DWade, who DNP'ed on Monday. The Old Bull is scheduled to go tomorrow night - which may not happen at all - and would need a 43 to keep Hans from advancing to the final. He's gone over 40 like, twice, all season. I think I'd be feeling good if I were Hans, but then I'd be Hans, so I can't say for sure how I'd be feeling.

So there you go. We'll see what happens on Big Wednesday.

Will sick joke Jok(s)ic play or will Cap resemble the other well known 7 foot Serb Vlade Divac quashing the scoring champ's flag waving like Divac did to Tony Kukoc and Drazen Petrovic raising the Croatian flag after Yugoslavia won a medal?

All rise. Today is the birthday of the E Team's boyhood idol, the legendary slugger Dick Allen, greatest player not in the Hall of Fame. 75 years young.

Happy Wednesday, you merry lads.

So I see that Jokic will not be playing tonight. Here is my suggestion for DNPs.
We have, in the past talked about having a substitution. The problem is that it puts to much on the score keeper and promotes lazy ownership. I think it should be on the team owner. If you look at the box score and see that your guy is out, you should be able to designate a replacement (at the same position) mid match. That means that you have to have a backup that still has a game in that match period. If you don't make that call and post it in the blog...that's on you.

My other, more drastic measure would be to change the scoring entirely. This thought was brought on by the lack of teams ability to post their rosters. I'm assuming that everyone must be too busy. Sucks going back 8 matches to try and find a lineup.
1 match per week. Lineups are submitted every Sunday.
Players first two games are scored
This allows for a player to miss a game or two in the match and still (potentially) get counting stats.
This also allows for a little less score keeping and standing updates for the statistician.

I don't like suggestion number 2 as for anyone who knows me...I'm looking for more action, not less.

Championships shouldn't be decided on DNP's

This is what I have so far for:

NOT Round 1
Irving 42
Smart 28
LeBron 55
Carmelo 2nd
Gobert 37
Aldridge 24

Wingos
1-Lillard 34
2-Booker 35
3-Wiggins
4-Markieff 10
5-KAT
U-Dragic 30

E, I do have it correct that Wingos removed their Porzingis in March 33 and did not re-insert him?

League Office:

Condolences to the Nitecaps. Bad enough that one of the best teams in the league at playoff time - 229.4 over the final seven - couldn't do better than the wrong side of the double jeopardy against the other hottest team (more on this later), but then the DNP has to come into play (More on that later, too). A fine season for the XMan, however.

And congrats to Ticket. Curiously, the guy put up a 179 three different times in the last 10 matches. And he also was over 220 every other time. He didn't back in.

P4, on the other hand, gets a hand up from the five-man E Team, moving on to the championship with a 201-159 win. Congrats to him: defending champ returns to the final. Don't know when it last happened. But where he'll find the firepower to battle Ticket is hard to know.

And yes, Swat's Melo is not harshing anyone but Wingo, who will need something awfully special from his Twin City twins to keep his NIT hopes alive.

Stay sharp people. We've got all four second round matchups starting tomorrow. Title rounds are best-of-three; consolation matches, one and done.

League Office:

Swat finishes off Wingo 211-192 and moves to a best-of-three against the Invaders for the coveted NIT title.

Ticket has defeated the Nitecaps 226-199 and look to wrest the league crown from the fast-fading P4, who is at 194.0 over the last five and now be without his AD as well as his KD. That is not a formula for success.

Nitecaps and E Team play one match for 3rd place.
