Pending an e-mail to E-Team update, DNP-layer Bargnani in last match remains a German rep. If so win number 20 may depend on a race to 200 with the league leader needing a trifecta of forty guys for a short-handed win over the suddenly active Nets.

Nets 130+2
Pau OFF
Lopez OFF
Iggy 31
Lewis 29
Brooks 22
Paul 48
vs Plus Vier 72+4
Billlups 45
CURRY OFF
Durant OFF
Nowitzki OFF
Nene 27
Bargnani OFF

Invaders three win streak ends with Robo Coach's sixteenth win. Had DBS joined E-Team, Ticket and JRB with an unused fourth ticket to see Chris Paul's game winning shot last night at the Rose Garden, there would have been present four of this league's first six finalists. But he wouldn't know that he won the lottery if it was only posted on this blog. Even worse, Ticket still can't get his cohorts to believe Outlaw's more likely to measure up with the game on the line than the one dimensional forwards Batum (D) & Webster (O).

Invaders 91+3
Kaman 20
Harrington OFF
Granger 39
Deron Moon River 32
Martin OFF
Maggette OFF
vs DBS 229
D How 51
Amare 23
Boozer 47
Jo. Smith 41
Joe J. 31
Rose 36
E-Team's 81 point edge in a four on two should play out for his 15th win. McCarthyists can Kidd himself into believing otherwise.
E Team 140+2
LeBron 46
DLee OFF
Rondo 39
SJax 29
LaMarcus 26
Tyreke OFF
vs McCarthyists 59+4
SG- Kobe Bryant OFF
PG- Jason Kidd OFF
C- Al Jefferson OFF
PF- Antawn Jamison OFF
SF- Paul Pierce 30
6th- Baron Davis 29

Salmons SAYS 91+3

Bogut OFF
Randolph 45
vs Ticket says 151+RIP OFF
Okur 22
Tim 25
Gay 20
Wade 51
RIP OFF
Parker 35
RIP OFF...GET IT? With 30's expected from WestBrogut, RIP's 35 in last five games pairs with Bosh's 40 in last 5.

Tom, If you arguing that Outlaw is a better bet than Martel or Nic with the game on the line (or not) than let me jump on your ship. That's not even a fair bet.

Hoop Social said...

Invaders 2 cents for Tom/Dave- while it may be true that Outlaw is better than Martel or Batum none of these three are good enough to start at 3 for an elite NBA team/all 3 are NBA backups-and w/no real 5 the Blazers would be miracle workers to get past first round of playoffs/look at a lesser playoff team like Memphis/their first 5 are much better than the current Blazers-also Invaders received the German communique on troop deployment...

nitecaps said...

Invaders,
A fifth man does not make a championship team, a championship team makes a fifth man. I hope no one is contending that the blazers are a championship team but consider Outlaw on the lakers, cavs, magic or mavs. T may not be a great roll player in this system. But given one he may be.
Sincerely,
Tayshaun Prince
James Posey &
Mario Elle

Why am I defending TO. I guess I was just in the mood to argue and Team C was not available.

Hoop Social said...

Dave- I'm just denigrating the Blazers because I've got to put up w/Cartier Martin and Anthony Toliver in this evening's starting lineup....I actually like Outlaw,I'd just like to see something better for the Blazers.Long ago you got pretty far w/the mediocre Jerome Kersey at 3.At least you've got a playoff team, albeit w/early exit

Hoop Social said...

E Team says:

Outlaw has a brain the size of a pea. I say Martell's continued development as an athlete, along with the presence of Rudy and Batum, makes him completely expendible.

Wait 'til he comes back and proves he's healthy, then ship him and Jeff Pendergraph (played at UA) to the Suns for Robin Lopez and some other old expiring junk. Los Suns are going to need both scoring and muscle if the shitbag Amare leaves.

Or how about the Grizz? They think they're going to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and they don't have dick for a sixth man. Can you send Doubtlaw there and try to pry away the new Mutombo, (Gimme) Thabeet? Hell, I'd take the Iranian, Haddadi. He's just as big and slow as Oden.

Or maybe they can get Mark's Anthony Randolph. Or Turiaf. He can steal Aldridge's job.

Or send him

E Team 220, McCarthyists 181

Try ASU E.

E Team said...

E Team says:

Same thing.

Hoop Social said...

I think Pendergraph is a great Power off the bench. He's an excellen rebounder, quick explosive leaper and finisher and gets the crowd and teammates up with intensity.. something others simply don't have and the Blazers NEED to contend past the first round.

Need to keep Rudy and Batum as well. Outlaw, Webster, Blake and Cunningham can all go.

Hoop Social said...

Eric-Invaders remind you that Grizzlies have been to playoffs twice before(under Hubie and Fratello) but were eliminated 3-0 both times. The reason Batum worked last year is that LaMarcus played like a 3 on offense which isn't what you want.Randolph is out until past trade deadline-my team wants to trade Biedrins not Turiaf(not for Outlaw/Webster or Batum)Biedrins(he was key part Suns wanted w/Curry for Stoudimire) doesn't put up points as well w/out Jackson or Baron to feed him.Lopez isn't available from Suns, they need banger to backup wimp Channing Frye.....

Hoop Social said...

Invaders would also like to say that the best 3 currently being shopped is Andre Iguodala who I believe is a terrific 2-way player who would be even better if he wasn't expected to score as much as he's asked to now w/Sixers...You add him and get a serviceable 5(Biedrins?Oden returns?) and then only the Lakers stand in Blazers way...

Hoop Social said...

Invaders counter E/Grizz bench statement-the "great" bench the Blazers have is more important during year than playoffs when rotations tighten-exactly why I like Memphis so much...the rumor is that Jazz(w/Miller's kids pinching pennies)will trade Ronnie Brewer(Arkansas is Memphis suburbia) to Grizzlies for a draft pick since they've got cap room- add him to Thabeet(unavailable) Tinsley and 2nd round pick DeMarre Carrol w/Arthur due back in March and their bench looks fine...Screw Haddadi(at least he shook hands w/Israeli player defying Ayatollahs)..

nitecaps said...

Team C...While I agree that TO has pea sized brain...do you remember that O story when they pooled 11 blazers and asked who there best friend was and I believe 8 named TO as best or second best (Roy best). I do believe in chemistry. I also believe TO has rare talent, like being able to create an unstoppable shot. I also believe that Martel is a late bloomer and will be a "rich mans" Dennis Scott.
F#$K Memphis. How come nobody is talking about the Seattle Thunder?
C...UA or ASU whats the diff? If new age recruiting is about beautiful weather and beautiful girls than ASU should make a commitment and become an overnight national power.
The real AI being shopped is one thing (wierd). But what about Bosh to LA for Bynum?
Rudy can be shipped.
I like Pendergraph.
Who are these guys starting for the Warriors (I had Cartier Martin and Anthony Toliver my lineup yesterday).
Just random thoughts.
Do the Giants have any interest in Damon?

Hoop Social said...

Invaders will start w/Damon question-there's been no serious mention of Damon though the Giants need all the offense they can get.Toliver 6-9 Creighton played a game or 2 for Blazers before that Spurs and D-league-not drafted-Martin 6-6 K-state-good athlete bad offensively hits 3 when set but can't score off dribble-good defender played w/Charlotte last half of last year-not drafted...I like what Thunder have done-their first 5 are better than Blazers right now-bench is better than Memphis w/Harden/Ibaka/Collison and Maynor..Bosh/Bynum won't happen-A top 3 or good 5 is worth dumping any of the 3 three's plus Rudy and Blake plus picks,Koppenen,Freeland(let's get Pritchard to be creative),,

Hoop Social said...

Dave- Spurs are rumored to be making bid for Bosh offering rights to top Euroleague center Tiago Splitter(who has buyout for next year) plus at least 2 other players...Invaders believe Stoudemire(as a 5 next to Beasley because O'neal won't be re-signed they're trying to trade him) will end up in Miami instead of Boozer(who lives in Miami now-quite a contrast to growing up in Juneau!) by next season if not by trade deadline...

What would Portland do next year with another 5 when the great Joel P and the overly exposed G.O. comeback? Portland's goal of a championship only increases in the next 3 years and not just because of their maturity but because of the aging stars in the rest of the west.
On to more pressing issues...
Does Oakland only sign players in the hopes of dealing them at mid season? I cant see them climbing out of fourth in the west in any scenario.
Whats the local reaction to the resigning of Molina? Damn, I thought that was surprising. Sure it fill a need, I guess. But he was practically run out of town last year.
Here's to a healthy Freddy Sanchez...for 80 games.

And can we keep the baseball off this blog? I like the game as much as the next guy, but people who start geeking out about baseball before pitchers and catchers report creep me out. Dave, don't you have some spring training fantasy league you can get on for that?

Thank you.

Hoop Social said...

Dave-Molina signing was a surprise and very popular..I was shocked even more by A's signing of Brewer ace but your right it will be a mid-season trade for 3 prospects unless the A's have legit playoff shot-in that case Beane has stated he'll settle for 1st round compensation. But never a long term deal. The 4 team division makes a quick turnaround easier but still unlikely.I was thinking a 5 for Blazers this year and having the luxury of extra big for trade next year or during draft-if of course Portland wants to instill culture of winning and try to make 2nd round of playoffs.Sanchez is a better player than I thought he was at Pitt.his last injury last year came from hanging tough on DP takeout slide, then he stayed in and made 2 great plays diving to his left-he's better defensively than I realized-I thought he was a Dave Magadan/Luis Polonia inside out swinger that couldn't drive the ball but I saw he actually could pull a little,he and Kennedy on A's showed me they were better players than I thought once I could see them every day...

Sorry.baseball is addictive if Dave mentions it I can't help responding!!

All I want from this stupid site is for someone to tell me what everyone scored in their matches. That's it... Conversations are cool but let's at least have that taken care of first.

Ticket says

Baseball bullshit welcome. Like E-Team needs to brush up on listening to Spanish speakers, I need baseball talk for my eventual move to NYC in my dream life of living in P-town only for hoops season.

This fantasy league drafter of My Ding Oden would take Thabeet or Diop for the Nene wannabe Oden. I never believed in Nene and I was wrong. So odds are I'll be right about Oden in the long run.

What Outlaw lacks in Batum's sturdiness on D and Webster's shooting fundamentals, he more than compensates in Rodman-esque dynamism during last winter's 17 win streak. No Od-or-en back then proved TO's a glue guy.

Kersey comparison's ridiculous. Jerome was part of the best fast break squad in franchise history. McMillan was beaten repeatedly by them and has forgotten the method of play. Hence his predictable iso's in the last minute with the game on the line, whether it's Roy, Miller, or Byron Scott's Jannero "Starks" the year before last when the Hornets scared the Spurs into game seven's waning moments. You can't make a dead horse run the fast break, right Y oh Y only play D at the Y E-Team?

Actually E-Team will resort to the turn around baby jumper I so admired in Willis Reed. And he's willing to play on gimpy knee like Reed. In contrast I'm no Iverson on my probably arthritic knee, according to Dr. Davis, who's no Walter "Greyhound" Davis, my favorite of forgotten eighties stars.

Tom P4 is 20-7-you didn't think Invader underwhelming win was worth recording as a loss last match?Kersey was meant as a great athlete/mediocre basketball player comparsion w/Outlaw w/out refernce to superior squad's style.I've actually met and spoken w/Kersey 3 times in 3 different cities-In Portland in a Japanese restaurant w/family-in elevator w/woman at Marriott in Oakland and had long talk(about baseball!)w/him night before Warrior/Phoenix game in Scottsdale at PF Changs
