Ticket says
I don't know when the dicktator asked for league wide approval of a best of three for any post-season finale other than the one for the title. That's the dicktator for you. The heading for this post is based on my understanding of what's recently been dtermined by MR. Consecutive LBJ picks add up to a big fat Jerry Sloan ugly looking nada.

E Team says:

The NIT has always been the exact same format at the Big Dance: double jeopardy followed by a best of three.

The third place match has always been just that: one match.

And hey Tom, speaking of nada, what will your total winnings for the year look like when Mark beats you in the NIT? Ten dollars? Even with the league throwing you a $50 discount for doing jack shit, you couldn't come close to breaking even.

I've never known anyone who could talk so much shit with so little to back it up.

Ticket says

All eyes on tonite's Blazers at Crescent City match at 5...perhaps an ear to the radio in lieu of the John Small for Kentucky telecast at 4.

The insolence of DBS sitting the best point guard in the east, and arguably the league! It's flabbergast-ful! Idiots like Ticket beating his brains comparing game logs just to come up with a no show pivot for the umpteenth time this season. E-Team with the steal of the draft just to see his squad catching Ticket's Syl Lee disease. Likewise for next best steal of the draft Cap's Boge-out of the playoffs-gut. P4, equally disdainful as E-Team toward the Knish Commish, the last active league champ, have come to their wits end with a disappointing back court in the playoffs.

So the season ends for :
Aldridge+E-Team 176-124 P4+Curry, Dirk

Tune in at 5PM for Hornets-Blazers on radio here and the first pick of the NBA draft Small show at 4 PM.
It appears the singing the German Blues Devil Dirk Singler needs a fifty to give Aldrige vs Curry a contest.

Ticket says
In what ought to be the only NIT match, Ticket is out $35 for the year instead of $85 if the dicktator had treated us all year to his old snail mail updates and standings he must have learned in the Manana border state college he attended.

Tom, perhaps you can stop flapping your gums long enough to handle the one small responsibility you've been given.

Dave put Salmons in for Zach Randolph, not Gerald Wallace.

E Team says:

If Ticket and the Invaders want to decide on one match for the NIT, that's their deal. I had considered just dropping the 'Slinger and the Mac Club, who probably didn't even know they were involved, from the post-season and letting the top seeds have it out, but there was no precedent for that.

It seems a little goofy to have a first round that can reach two matches per series, then play one match in the final, but hey, whatever.

Ticket favors the one match format, fine, it's over when Mark beats him tonight.

I have

DBS 191
Cap 192

In a fairly unexciting nail biter.

E Team said...

E Team says:

Unexciting my ass!

The all-powerful fantasy karma gods just say no to Stacy's braindead bid to win our money without trying.

And the death-defying NiteCreamers, arguably the weakest Top Four team entering the playoffs, move to within one win of capturing their second title in four seasons... without ZBo or Bogut!

Unreal.

Hoop Social said...

Eric is wrong about Ticket losing.Invaders assumed from beginning it was 3 games and will need them after hornet /warrior stinkers.Scola comes up big and Gay only needs 21 tomorrow for Ticket win-It is 3 isn't it?Eric said it was originally.I voted for 3 originally.

In a separate yet related story.

Nitecreamers 192
P4 185

Mark, as I've been saying all along, the damn NIT has always been the same format at the Big Dance. Where anyone else got another idea, I don't know.

E Team says:

Hans und Franz. The third-place playoff is and always has been one match.

I understand that you guys are a bit disappointed about your finish; I was kinda hoping for something a little better myself. But stuff is what it is.

If it's any consolation, the frau and I made our first visit to Prost (Skidmore and Mississippi) last night, and the array of icy cold German biers on tap is making my mouth water just talking about it.
I'm going to recommend in the strongest possible terms that we go there for the season-ending celebration, at which you can brag about your relative success.

Prost sounds good to me.

vs. DBS best 2 of 3 (1-0)
