Jeez, V'jao is the new DHow.

Hoop Social said...

Invaders think V'jao is a great player who plays both ends w/desire and never gives up on any rebound-if he was a better shooter then he'd be absolute elite material-Going back to Welsh surnames Eric my father's name was Richard Davis Mosier the Davis was his mother's maiden name her father my g-grandfather was born in Wales and came over in the 1870's.As for Williams it's a very common Welsh name-In the fall of 1987 on a train from Wales to London I picked up a beautiful green eyed blonde named Caryss Williams-she was from the town with the longest name in the world(made even longer for tourism possibilities)on the isle on Anglsea a Welsh island in the Irish sea-it was a wild weekend a hurricane hit and London was w/out power for the longest period since the blitz making for a truly memorable experience-Matthews with a double T is more than likely Welsh double consonants are common particularly L like the common Welsh name Llewellyn for example-as double vowels are so common in Dutch names-the Jao in V'jao's name is Portuguese for John-I know this from partying for the festival of San(or Sao) Jao(St.John) in the Azores

Ticket ok with jordan Crawford at 2. Wingo's father was a prisoner in Hong Kong? I was a prisoner in a cell in Oakland Alamaeda Colisseum. Someone snatched a Day on the Green (with motley Crue, White Snake and White Lion) ticket so I reported the theft to security so I was thrown in the same cell with the thief. He offered to return the ticket for his freedom but an eavesdropping cop heard him and set me free ist.It worked out well for both me and Wingo's Dad, who we owe for the most unusual addition to this league besides Invaders.

Invaders find it interesting Tom was busted at a "day on the green"I went to many day on the greens at the Coliseum my favorite was the Who and the Dead double bill in the late 70's... the Who were pissed off they were second bill to the Dead and it showed in their attitude during the performance.. I went to both shows on a Saturday and Sunday and was within a few feet of the stage for the Saturday show the 2nd closest I've ever been-the closest was at the lead table next to Taj Mahal performing at the "boarding house" a well known small venue in SF in the 70's and 80's

The Welshish Wingos (since the British sailor Tommy Matthews who was Hawthorne's grandfather altho he died of TB in 1925 - was of Welsh descent, true dat re "2t" Matthews') were listening to Taj Mahal when they read Invaders message about a Taj show... Serendipity! Li'l Hawthorne saw Taj as the opening act of a triple bill in 1967 at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis w/ the Grass Roots and CCR. Great show! Wingos say Keep On Chooglin'

Hoop Social said...

Serendipity indeed-Invaders like Wingo's musical taste-CCR was a big local band here in the east bay our answer to the SF bands the Dead/Airplane/Quicksilver/Santana/Janis and big brother/Youngbloods/Country Joe/etc...that dominated the bay area scene circa '67-'68-Kiel was where the old St.Louis Hawks played before moving to Atlanta right around that time

Invaders are cursed w/DNP Pau sits-now it's hit me as well-can we proceed w/a vote on this sometime soon??this is a case where it appears he's resting one game w/tendinitis and it was announced just today-this explains his underwhelming stats thus far it's not just D'Antoni's offense as Kobe suggested he had failed to adapt to-it's probably the injury combined with losing space underneath to Howard

Mr.Belvedere said...

I vote for play seven, take best six scores.

Mr.Belvedere said...

A perfect example of how silly the idea that "good management" or "good drafting" impacts your DNPs. Pau is out resting on Tuesday but lineups are set on Monday. Is Invaders a bad manager because he didn't look into his crystal ball? Pau is a pretty healthy dude. Do I hate Pau Gasol? Sure. A lot.
DNPs are usually luck of the draw situations. Why is luck such a factor in fantasy hoops?
Evolve league. Evolve.

I long for more cries of outrage.

Let's get the top 4 proposals on the board. Vote and get it down to 2 and vote for the solution.

B, is that yet another proposal?

E Team says:

Here we go again. Hey, I feel bad for Mark's Invaders. They're sitting at 1-9 despite having a scoring average good enough to be tied for fourth place.

But don't lets start banging our shoes on the podium just yet over the Pau DNP. Gasol's health issues have been anything but a secret of late, so much so that there has been talk about taking him out of the lineup.

His numbers over his last six games? 24, 11, 26, 23, 22, 21. That's fantasy points. He's averaged 9.0 points a game over that stretch.

Mark wasn't waiting for a breakout game, he just couldn't pull the guy because Bogut and Blopez are out and Gortat has been wildly inconsistent, although he did put up a 29 and a 28 in his last two. (He also has Byron Mullens, a supplemental pickup who put up a 27 on Monday night.)

Is this a bad drafting/management issue? Not necessarily. But Mark's problem isn't the Pau DNP; Mark's problem is that three of his centers are now down and he's having to scrape by at the position for now. That's fantasy basketball.

That said, I think I might have a little something worth discussing on the DNP issue. Problem is, I've got a shitload of work to do tonight. I'll bust it out a little later in the week.

Hasta pronto.

Final Germans defeat Invaders 219-160 P4(Holiday-28...Harden-32...Durant-45...Bosh-36...Ibaka-28...George-50)Invaders(Pau-DNP...Lamarcus-46...Young-15...JJ-23...Westbrook-39...Lowry-37)Eric is right that my centers are out I would've wanted Lopez the last 2 games since Gortat was so bad for 2 weeks-Even if Pau had played I would've lost to a 219

Partials Swat 180 awaiting Parker ETeam 109 w/unrepentant fighter Rondo and Duncan left to go....it's the Caps heading toward the biggest scoring output yet this year already w/211 and still with Melo to play Belvederes have a very respectable 184 with Sessions still yet to be heard from....and the Brooklyn Tickets 155 w/out Josh Smith Wingos 102 with Horford and Cousins remaining

Mr.Belvedere said...

I anxiously await ETeam's ideas. I am up for anything but would say, whatever we land on should be the complete scores from 6 guys who played. Why do we even carry 15? Nobody uses more than 7 or 8 guys all year.

Hoop Social said...

Ticket has already used all 11 of 12 draft night picks.

DNP solvers give me gas, not laughs. Look at it this way...if Invaders could write off the loss on soaked artifacts and E-Team could be compensated for spawning a devalued American male in a web spinning women's America, then we can address DNP problems.

Hoop Social said...

P4 repeats its stance on DNP. List normal 6 and add a 7th man for DNP only. If you have a DNP you take your 7 man score less standard 10 point DNP penalty.

The Germans are awakening from a Championship hangover.

Final Nitecaps go wild defeating the B's 243-198 Caps(Dragic-38...Kobe-49...Melo32...Zebo-64...Baby-37...Jennings-31)B(Sessions-14...Wade-31...Gay-28...West-25...Lee-36...Griff-43...Asik-21)Randolph had 51 fps in regulation and went off for 13 more in OT

Final Swat wallops the E's 217-169 Swat(Parker-37...LBJ-55...Iggy-16...Gasol-29...Batum-39...VJao-41)E(Howard-34...Love-21...Monta-27...Rondo-30...Demn-27...Duncan-30)

Ticket corrects Invaders who says "Brooklyn Tickets 155 w/out Josh Smith Wingos 102 with Horford and Cousins remaining".
Horford 45-32 Josh Smith. Cousins has 30 early in the 4th. Ticket calls out, "Next!"

Two guys in Vegas watching Hawks-Nuggets during happy hour are also watching blazers lose to Pacers on their laptop. Both are Oregonians in fantasy leagues: one in a 12 category who changes lineups daily league says: "I'm losing a match because I need to overcome an assist deficit. So I sit my good players just to see my bench role players put up more assists." Ticket thinks his yahoo league is retarded. Udrih for Z-Bo anyone? The other Oregonian says, "I'm in a field goal percentage league, 2 points for a bucket and 1 point for a made field goal. My P. George shot 3-16 so I got a -13 from him."

So in our 17 year old league the wearisome DNP nets a much whined about 0. How about negative counts? Any votes for that?

Tom Invaders have your game with Wingos a tie 188-188 Ticket(Noah-23...Monroe-32...Josh-33...Derozan-30...Curry-43...Paul-27)HW(DWill-46...Klay-14...Galinari-25...Horford-46...Cousins-40...GHill-17)if I'm wrong give me your totals and I'll go back and check we can always adjust the standings if needed-needless to say the Caps 243 takes high point winnings-this is the highest scoring match period of the year w/3 teams well over 200 and the B's losing w/198-it would've been a bad time to play Kontrol-thankfully the median monster is dead

Ticket says
Wingo niraculously ties match with Ticket. Needing 10 from Cousins in the fourth quarter, he gets just that. Hence, Wingo makes entertaining a meaningless game between two teams that are a combined 8-26. Thanks wing nut. Now its time for Ticket to stop resisting his employer wanting him to wear a cowboy hat so that ranchers will sell him rodeo tix. Like tying Wingo, I get to kiss my sister for a pay check.

Ah, to don the Clyde Frazier fur now worn by our league leader, who's not content with the most stimulating form of fantasy fever on a night like this. Isn't a pimp just someone who lives off his woman?

Hoop Social said...

Tom Invaders have a good 1998 Vegas rodeo week story to tell you sometime-I'll have to do it by phone because it's NC-17-sounds like Dave is living the good life down there

Hoop Social said...

Since W left office, Ticket says Dave owns this league except for the Germans last year. I'll call Invaders about rodeo.
