Hints from Invaders on Eric's question-the African guard is playing on a different team this year than last year-the Jamaican guard went to the same high school as actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck though not at the same time.

Invaders don't know answer to Senator/National question by Tom but I'm not old enough to remember before the original Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961.So I'm trying to remember a former Twin who played for the expansion Senators and coached for the Nationals

Invader trivia questions-who's the tallest British born NBA player ever? and who's the tallest German born NBA player ever? who's the tallest Panamanian born NBA player ever? That Cousy from Jamaica Queens joke was good Tom...

Ticket says
I said active player, not a coach, who played for both Senators and a third franchise in Washington (elbow to rib).

No one has made me laugh harder than E-Team turning the pitcher protector fence around to toss batting practice to someone who switched batter's boxes. Ambidextrous pitchers are outnumbered by one armed ones in the majors.
Maybe I'm mistaken. Has there ever been a legitimate switch pitcher?

Ticket vs Swat
Monroe
KG
Josh Smith
Curry
Wall
Collison

Ticket says Wow!
According to ESPN I can buy tickets to see my fantasy team tomorrow for as low as $1 for Smith @ Collison's house,$2 for Monroe,$3 for Wall and $5 for KG, who quadrupled the cost of a normal Bobcat ticket in the secondary market.

E Team says:

Hmm. Mark, remember, I said the Jamaican was a bit of a trick question. The guy I'm thinking of grew up in Denzel Washington's home town. Didn't Damon and Affleck go to Rindge and Latin, or whatever school Patrick Ewing attended in Boston?

Tallest Brit: Spencer Dunkley? Gay John Amaeche? Don Ameche? Alan Ameche?

Tallest German: Uwe Blab?

Panamanian: Omar Moreno? Rita Moreno?

Hey, do you guys know why there are Panamanians with Anglo surnames like Rod Carew and Roberto Kelly?

E Team said...

E Team says:

Oh, and I forgot about the Panamanian Ben Oglivie.

Hoop Social said...

Invaders are of course thinking of Rumeal Robinson from Rindge and Latin so Cousy is the answer?-The tallest guys are all trick questions-The tallest German born player is Shawn Bradley born on a military base hospital in the then West Germany-He's 3 inches taller than Blab and 5 inches taller than Christan Welp.Tallest Brit is long time NBA center from Wazu James Donaldson a miltary son born on a base in the UK.Neil Fingleton was the tallest Brit player at 7-6 but couldn't make it as an American college player. The hardest question of all is tallest Panamanian it's former UCLA white stiff Stuart Gray born in the canal zone-there are indeed anglo names among Panamanians.Brewer outfielder David Green was from Nicaragua you may remember-and there's the fastest pitcher in MLB today Aroldis Chapman a Cuban

Hoop Social said...

The reason for the anglo surnames must surely be migration and intermarriage of British Caribbean islanders to Spanish islands and Central America-There's an east coast town in Nicaragua called Bluefields known for it's anglo bloodlines and history

Hoop Social said...

Invaders see where Denzel is from so now I know the answer another guard what changed teams from last year he's actually on the UK eligible list for their Olympic team

Hoop Social said...

Invaders imagine the canal attracted more islanders of all colonial backgrounds than any other spot in Central America due to employment opportunities and possibility of American citizenship for children born in the canal zone which was administered as an American colony like Puerto Rico

E Team says:

Ah, it's hard to get anything past Professor Mosier. Laborers from Jamaica - who of course had Anglo surnames - were useful in projects like the building of the Costa Rican railway and the Panama Canal. Evidently, some stuck around.

E Team says:

Let's see. Apart from being without three of my top four draft picks, my squad is pretty healthy.

I'll go...

Monta, Pierce, Deng, Hickson, Vasquez, Okafor

Ticket says
Was James Donaldson taller than Brit import Michael Olowakandi?

Was Stuart Gray on a UCLA team that played five guys together who made it as pros: Michael Holton,Mike Sanders,Kenny Fields and Rod Foster. I think so. Did Kiki play with all of them? I don't think so.

Speaking of Washington-not Denzel- Don Mincher played in Washington for the Senators that became the Twins and Rangers, as well as the Seattle Pilots that became the Brewers. In a sense, Mincher was more a curse to baseball town than Ed Mathews-the third baseman for the Boston,Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves.

Sorry about your Niners Mark. 5 more yards and Colin could have become the face of advertisers hawking colonoscopies.

Tom-Kiki graduated in 1980 losing the NCAA final coached that year by Larry Brown to Louisville-Foster was a freshman and Sanders a sophomore were on that team-Invaders can think of 7 UCLA players on the '82 team who made NBA rosters Gray/Sanders/Fields/Darren Daye/Holton/Foster and Mark Eaton-almost every UCLA team in this era had between 3 to 6 future pros on it-Olowokandi was 7-1 Donaldson 7-2...49ers made an incredible comeback from 28-6 deficit after the power failure-a few calls going their way could've changed things-the refs missed a lot of interference calls it seemed

Tom Invaders know that 8 members of the 1996 Pitino coached Kentucky team made the NBA-Tony Delk/Antoine Walker/Derek Anderson/Ron Mercer/Walter McCarty/Mark Pope/Nazr-Mohammed and Wayne Turner and I think 1 or 2 more were redshirted I believe Scott Padgett was one of them
