This league's first 300 in nearly twenty years and none of it counts from my performers the last two days.

Try and live in the real world is all the advice my lucky stiff opponent has to say.

E Team says:

Yes Tom, tell the story about your 300 game to the green man and the giant rabbit.

And hey, look. Jarrett Jack has two fantasy points midway through the third quarter.

Dang, if only I still had him.

Ticket says
So my opponent, the grand son of a movie director, equates me with the Jimmy Stewart character who sees an imaginary rabbit in the flick "Harvey." (The green man I see is Buck Larry Sanders, the guy I chose instead of E-Team's 40 guy, Gervais Vasquez, probably the guy with the highest average in this year's supplemental draft. I thought I could wait on him 'til the second round, so I suppose I'm crazy as they say).

I see differently the 300 compiled by Noah,Monroe,Josh Smith,DeRozan and Paul in the non-match on 2/27-2/28 preceding match 34.

The one and only 300 Hoops Social fantasy legend reminds me of "This Magic Moment" by song writer Doc Pommus, who started out as the Williamsburgh, Brooklyn child Jerome Felder. He contracted polio at Camp Mohican in upstate NY in 1934.

Thanks Wingo and go Invaders. Picking your opponents as favorites to win, I believed my season was over unless I won all the remaining matches.

I just stumbled across this piece of trivia. Damian Lillard finished his career at Weber State as the second highest scoring player in Big Sky Conference history.

Who is first?

Hoop Social said...

Invaders are stumped and can tell it's someone who didn't play NBA basketball-The greatest players in the NBA to have come from the big sky historically have been Michael Ray Richardson and Larry Kystowiak current Utah univ. head coach-also great was former ABA player Willie Sojourner but I know none of these are the answer I'd bet Krystowiak is the all time rebound leader though.Stuckey was the last guy from the conference to make it but I think he left as a sophomore.

Also John Stockton's freshman year around 1980 at Gonzaga was either the first or second year after the school moved from the Big Sky to the WCAC I was in grad school at Nevada in the early 8o's also a Big Sky school at the time.....

E Team says:

Very nice effort, Mark. Hadn't thought about Larry Krystowiak in awhile.

How about... Orlando Lightfoot. University of Idaho.

Final Invaders play spoiler and beat Mr.B's bunch 211-184 Invaders(BLopez-31...Lamarcus-31...Thaddeus-37...Westbrook-51...JR-30...Vucevic-32)B(Tyreke-17...Wade-37...Gay-29...Griff-36...DLee-34...DWest-31)

Partial updates ETeam has beaten Ticket but it's not official until Superman plays tomorrow right now w/out Howard it's 184-183....Eric I'd also nominate Harold Arceneaux of Weber state a tournament hero who was mvp of the league twice I think. There was a 6-10 guy from Idaho State named Jeff Cook who had a long NBA career looking white on the bench and in pre-game warmups but he wasn't even all that good in college. He's the greatest player from Pocatello...The greatest player from the conference though played at Idaho before there even was a Big Sky conference-His name was Elgin Baylor

Hoop Social said...

Partial update-In the big game it's P4 in the books w/218 Nitecaps 178 so Dave needs a 41 tomorrow from Kobe

Hoop Social said...

Final since Utah doesn't play tomorrow no 2nd chance for Swat so its's a 190-148 victory for the Wingos...HW(DWill-34...Beal-42...Klay-29...Horford-36...Cousins-17...Dirk-32)Swat(Parker-20...Lawson-23...LBJ-39...AJeff-DNP...Gasol-38...Conley-28)

I thought Elgin Baylor played at Seattle U.

Caps in need of 39 in what a match of the top two seeds should look like (high scoring).

Yet another epic set of matches.

Wingo's continue to play giant killer.

E's making his play for a 3 or 4 slot with a huge win.

B's unable to capitalize, but don't lose any ground.

Can't wait to see what drama unfolds in the next match.

Gotta go check the match ups.

Eric -Elgin played at both Seattle and Idaho-he started at Idaho but I guess Moscow was a little hard for a young DC black guy in the mid 50's so he transferred to cosmopolitan Seattle,I had a long talk a few years ago with a teammate of Elgin's at Idaho former great 49er wide receiver RC Owens who said there were 5 black players on that Idaho team and all except Elgin also played football. Those 5 guys(including RC) Owens told me were the only black students on campus.Owens is famous for his basketball hops resulting in the first descriptions on going high for td passes from YA Title as "alley oops"

Congrats to the XMan on the nailbiter over the Germans. That's dramatic stuff.

And now our frontrunners, a team that seemed poised to run away from everyone, suddenly with the longest losing streak in the association?!

Where in the decision to go with the "second chance" for DNP's does it say that if the team only plays one game in the match period that the "second chance" is null and void?!

Feels like we are in another instance of "making it up as we go".

Wouldn't logic dictate that the next score in the next match period would count, and then the next score in the new match period counts for the new match period?

Seems like this a rule discrepancy that needs to not be arbitrarily decided upon by an individual member of the league, but should be brought to league vote as an on going "debugging" of a new league rule.
