I would be tempted to see Wall against Deron, the point who got me to the finals vs P4 last season, if the price was as right as it is to see the Wiz in DC. Get this:
(From NY Times Thur. 3/7) An early command by the announcer of “Get on your feet and make some noise!” was ignored by most in attendance. But when a five-point Wizards lead turned into a 14-point deficit after the the home team was outscored 31-13 in the third quarter, there were boos. And though boos are not the noise any host would prefer, they signaled disappointment, which sounds a whole lot more inspiring in a cavernous arena than the pin-drop apathy I had witnessed at the December game.
The fan investment peaked late in the game, thanks to a vindictive promotion that promised a free Chik-fil-A sandwich to every fan in attendance if any visiting player missed both free throw attempts in the fourth quarter. And with 2:46 left in the game, Brandon Knight of the Pistons did just that, sending a booing crowd into a celebratory frenzy as the announcer declared us all entitled to chicken.
For many of us in the upper deck, the $2.75 sandwich was a bigger expenditure than the ticket price had been.
Not only had buying a ticket been cheap, the chicken turned it into a net profit.
