I root for E-Team to beat the ring leader and call him on Easter to congratulate him. He doesn't return the call.
So I'm a broken record no one in this league can stand any longer, if he is to be believed. How do I stack up against the rest of Hoops Social who have fallen out of favor with the commish?
P4's lengthy draft selections are less problematic but there was a time when the Germans weren't what we would call "good sports." JRB went apopleptic when DBS arrived for a draft an hour late. Since JRB was the draft day guru, DBS became the coach most ridiculed by the commish. JRB stopped caring about fantasy basketball and neglected to monitor DNP's. Big Sky threatened to quit over late lineup issues and the outlaw of trades in this league. Big Panty, the biggest pain in the neck and blow hard supported my disputes with the commish because, I suppose, from one blow hard to another, the most hated man in fantasy basketball shared something in common with the most talked about man in fantasy sports-if you count how often one talks about one's self. Just clearing the air.
Despite the tangled web weaved in Hoops Social, I hold you all as the few people of interest in my life. I pick up E-Team's gear tomorrow and start coaching them how to play ball Wed. The years on the diamond and the court with Eric were my favorite. Hopefully I learned from enough from my superior and the team name in his family's honor will stick so I remember these gifts.
Tix...Hoop Social is no place to bare your feelings.
Your are potentially on the verge of a title. It's time to start eyeing out your favorite bottle of hooch and preparing to catch the train to go party with your boys in the boogie down. Maybe... you reel off some of your spoken word to KRS-1 and bond will be made for ever.
Regardless of weather it's the E's or Tix, this will go down as the best hoop social season in my memory.
It's the NBA equivalent of Oklahoma City vs (well) Brooklyn playing for this years nba title.
It should be noted that the E Team knew Pierce would likely play in the second game of the match period, but, along with liking Deng's recent output, was reluctant to embrace the second chance rule to stay with Pierce.
Also, the E Team made a bit of a procedural error, failing to determine whether Hawes, who is listed as a center only on plain old ESPN, could play the 4. The commissioner says he can.
Some unsteady leadership on my part. This can anger the fantasy gods, but hey, we'll just have to see if there's any magic in my ancestral GasHole.
Partial scores ETeam has 175 waiting for his Vasquez Ticket 143 the number 1 pick AD and Curry still to go....Nitecaps may have gotten 3rd place finishing w/a strong 231 Germans sit w/105 needing 127 from KD/Ibaka and Holiday
In the NIT championship Swat has 112 w/ double DNPs King James and TY Law not likely for 2nd chances Mr.B 106+Tyreke and Lee while Wade was also a DNP....Wingos beating Invaders in underwhelming game 72-51
Final indeed it's 201-193 ETeam over Ticket E(Howard-39...Monta-44...Kemba-37...Deng-25...Pau-30...Vasquez-26)T(Monroe-33...ADavis-17...Josh-42...Curry-33...Wall-47...Paul-21)
3rd place game awaits KD and Ibaka currently it's 231-133 Caps over P4...The B's have beaten Swat 181-112 B(TYreke-30...Wade-DNP...Gay-47...Griff-23...DLee-45...Boozer-36)Swat(Lawson-DNP...LBJ-DNP...Conley-28...MGas-30...AJeff-40...Batum-14)....Wingos beating the Invaders 145-90
Dave, perhaps if I had competed in more finals lately, I'd be more knowledgeable, but it just seems like there are tons of guys being rested or shutting down right now, sometimes without a lot of notice.
I hate to think that titles would be decided by some late-season anomaly after guys have done the long, hard work of guiding their teams through the season. We all know there are enough variables as it is.
Could a 35 or 36-match schedule be the answer?
Perhaps we should plan a Summer FBBL Summit in a neutral location like Reno or Tahoe to discuss this and other matters. The great powers convening like at Yalta or Camp David.
Mark's a former Reno guy; maybe he can set us up. And they've got a Single A team. We can take in a ballgame.
Invaders wish to inform Eric that the Reno Aces are a AAA team in the PCL w/your Portland team.Reno's just not the same as the old days I'm sorry to say I've had reports from old friends that the downtown scene is pretty bleak but Harrah's the El Dorado (owned and run by the family of former Cowboy backup QB Glen Carano)and the Silver Legacy(half owned originally by the Carano's and Circus/Circus)are still around as are the Peppermill and Atlantis farther down Virginia street. It wouldn't match Dave's lifestyle now that he's a Vegas guy....
Invaders forgot didn't you lose the Portland baseball club and the stadium just has soccer now?Final Dave's Caps take game 1 231-197 Caps(Jennings-28...Kobe-51...Melo-56...Zbo-23...Pekpvoc-37...Harros-36)P4(Holiday-22...George-44...Durant-44...Bosh-33...Ibaka-26...Lillard-28)
Mark, that's it for the Nitecaps-Germans. One match for third place. I suppose they could play best of three if they want and if you're prepared to report it, but that's for the three of you to decide.
We've also had teams agree to combine the third and fourth-place money and play for the whole thing. That's up to them. Or they could take the money they have and call it quits. Whatever.
Hey E, That's why I was asking. I don't recall having so many DNP Coaches decision in the past. Is this an anomaly or a sign of where things are headed? Maybe we can slice two matches and play an unbalanced schedule? I hope this great season doesn't end with some "rested" players.

Championship partial score-Ticket 96+ ADavis/Curry and Wall yet to play ETeam 81 w/Deng/Howard/Pau and Vasquez still remaining...

Good Luck fellas! I hope it goes 3 games.
E Team says:
Hey Mark/Dave: Just out of curiosity, does that ESPN fantasy site have Spencer Hawes as a pure center or a 4/5? And Okafor?
Forgot to ask you guys before.
Invaders see that Hawes is a 4/5 but Okafor is strictly a 5
E Team says:
Luol Deng, previous three games: 39, 35, 42.
Tonight: 25
The good news is that Wall only went for 47, not 64.
Woo hoo!

Nice work Jrue Holiday 2-24 from the field...How Brandon Jennings of you.

I'm not the official scorer, but I think I can report accurately that the E Team has defeated Ticket by 201-193 in Match 1 of the title series.
Deng's 25 was not good, but the 21 from C3Pio, Ticket's top pick, was probably the difference-maker.
E Team says:
Guys, I think we should discuss the possibility of shortening the regular season to, say, 36 matches.
Things are getting a little dicey out there.

Invaders think for a 10 team league 36 would be ideal (9x4) but if it's an 8 team league 35 would mean each team plays every other team 5 times...
I'm in favor shortening the season. Has this been as big a problem in past years?
I'm for the NBA following suite.

Nitecaps! P4 will give you a 1 game lead in best of 3 for all of the 3rd and 4th place money. Interested???

Reno? That could be cool.
Okay, P4 goes:
Holiday
Harden
Durant
Bosh
Ibaka
George
