With half a game separating the top two teams, the pennant will not be decided in this match. Nor will a drink-buyer be confirmed.
If the E Team defeats the now full-strength Swat Team, and Ticket cannot hold off the dangerous Wingos, the E Team will clinch a spot in the Big Dance. If both those things happen and the Nitecaps beat Mr. B - not that I would bet on that - the E Team will likely lock up third place based on points.
I can't see any other magic number scenarios out there.

Hey Tom, I guess it would be convenient to talk about how little averages mean when you're at 176.3 for the season WITH Josh Smith.
As much as you'd like to associate yourself with the first-place Nitecaps, I'm going to go ahead and say that the Kobe injury is a bit more significant that you losing Smith.
And as far as facing the B's in Match 40, are you sure you've got 38 and 39 sewn up?

This is kinda funny. In Sunday's supplemental, I almost picked up the ageless Mike James as a kind of good luck charm, because he was on my 2006 title team. (What's painfully funny is that he would've given me a better score than four guys in my lineup last match.)
But lo and behold, also available was the man who led that squad to the title: Pau Gasol. So I grabbed him. And guess who is now expected to be back in action by next week?
Woo hoo! It's all about the juju.
