I was riding with a second bike abandoned outside Prospect Park. Painted orange with no brand name or anything else in print, a Puerto Rican offered to lighten my load for free. What a nice guy. I wondered how I could contribute more to my community when I read this:

The new Miss America, Mallory Hagan, has something very special about her: she lives in Brooklyn — the first Miss America from New York in nearly 30 years. Ms. Hagan, a student at Fashion Institute of Technology and an enthusiastic tap dancer, lives in Windsor Terrace, goes running in Prospect Park and enjoys the vegetarian egg-white omelets at her local restaurant.

F.I.T. is not fit for stalking prey (too much competition.) Prospect Park is crawling with cops. Besides, getting my ass kicked by a Miss America warding off my amorous advance is something I could never get over according to my only social circle on Hoops Social.

Egg whites, hmmm.

Invaders wish wonderful times and sweet dreams for Tom and Mallory(sounds like Mickey and Mallory of Natural Born Killers?)I had a girlfriend who graduated from the F.I.T. campus in SF back in the early 90's she was beautiful but now middle aged and broke I can't attract those types any more-I thought Vujacic had to play some tennis to get Sharapova-how about you and Vilas' ex Eric?

Inquiring minds want to know. I was doing that expatriot thing in Europe after college in the early '80s. I had fallen into some modeling work and was hanging out with the fashionable set in Madrid when I met this low-grade Argentine actress named Graciela Nilson.

It was through her that I met the French Open champion Yannick Noah, yes, the father of Ticket's Joachim. We all hung out having drinks at the disco one night. Also met the ill-fated Fernando Martin about that time. First Spaniard to play in the NBA if I'm not mistaken, although not for long.

There's your tennis connection, Tom.

I heard this swanky stuff from you guys before but its still good to know that some of the stiffs in this league excelled at being stiff. Speaking of stiffs, 2-10 Kobe has a fantasy 8 in first 20 minutes of the Raptor game. I don't get Nitecap's message about tardy response to Pekovich removal.

Final P4 223 ETeam 170..P4(Irving-31...Harden-34...Durant-64...Bosh-21...Ibaka-27...George-46)E(Howard-9...Monta-28...Rondo-41...Pierce-23...Duncan-39...Vasquez-30)There's the obvious tennis/basketball connection Joakim Noah my old upstairs neighbor on the 14th floor at 230 Central Park South son of Yannick who I spoke w/numerous times in the elevator over the years..I'd think the European players in the NBA might also be the best tennis players(white stereotype/cultural bias?)Martin was indeed the first Spaniard but the first guy to have played in the Spanish league before playing in the NBA was Wayne("the man from Spain")Hightower a former early 60's Warrior who was a teammate of Wilt in high school/college and the pros

Hightower. Great hoop name. First evers are great fun. How about this one:
In the minors, Earl Weaver developed his strategic skill as well as his penchant for umpire baiting. On one occasion, after a close fair-foul call against him on a shot down the third-base line, he tore the bag out of the ground and stormed off with it, explaining to the umpire, “You’re not using this anyway.”

Ticket says Cap needs 24 from Melo to win short handed. He sticks with his injured guys and I don't, even though mine are my two best picks? Good for you ring leader!

Hoop Social said...

Tom Invaders have you leading Caps 164-131 w/Melo therefore needing 34 for a Nitecap win-my team trails 181-171 so I need an 11 at least from JR to beat Swat

Tx- Note match 23 lineups. I didn't "stick" with my injured guys. I missed the cut off time lineup changes.

Sure Nitecap. You knew you could beat me with five appendages. This Miss America suitor (in my mind only) may be disillusioned at times, but get this:

"When it comes to keeping the team in our community, Sacramento is playing to win," Mayor Kevin Johnson said. "In particular, we have been focused like a laser on identifying an ownership group that will both have the financial resources desired by the NBA and the vision to make the Kings the NBA equivalent of what the Green Bay Packers have been in the NFL.''

I refuse to believe that a team that has been turned out of Rochester,Cincinnati, KC, Omaha and Sacramento deserves original leaguer status. What's more, this is the fifth time a west coast city has been left behind-Dago twice,Seattle and Vancouver preceded Sacto. I believe our eight present fantasy team owners will outlast the NBA before another team abandons town. Who's next? Will someone like the Bobcats just become defunct?
