Hey, that's weird. I thought I posted my lineup on the blog last night. Nobody had posted the matchups, so I had to go back to Match 18 or whatever and figure out who I was playing. Then I posted the following lineup with text that read something like this...
Feeling a little thin, the E Team tries to hold off the Invaders with this assemblage...
DHow, Monta, Pierce, Kemba, Hickson, Vasquez
Could it have gotten deleted somehow? Does anyone remember reading anything that sounded like that?
That's kind of funky. I was on the blog a bunch last night and I obviously would have pulled Rondo from from my lineup. And I didn't want to risk Duncan sitting against the shitty Bobcats on Wednesday, so I went Hickson.
Invaders suggest Robert Cray for Wingo head coach the players would relate to him better-and rather than Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere how about a member of the Kingsmen to run the show
Eric Invaders don't remember seeing your lineup-as you know I was late posting the schedule so right before 2pm was my first glance at the blog today-did you post it on the score page?I'll check
Eric there are no deletions since Match 25 lineups-I saw your post about your daughter picking Italy over a Spanish speaking country-I love Italy been there half dozen times almost married a girl back in the 80's from Stresa who's family owned a hotel on Lago Maggiore I met her at a French school on the Riviera-I took my old girlfriend to Naples/Positano and Capri in 2003 and it was fantastic..I stayed at an old nunnery near Siena in 2004 etc..walked the Adriatic beaches of Rimini etc..If she loves art/fashion/cooking/classical music etc.. and most of all western history!! there aren't any better places for young person to spend time than Italy- Florence and Tuscan hill towns are like living museums-I'd encourage you to send her it will be a life changing experience at that age!!
Mark, I checked all the other blog categories and don't think the thing exists anymore. Plus, I know I tried to enter it on the Match 26 lineup post, because it didn't have the matchups yet and mine was the first posting.
Messed up.
Hey, since you're my opponent, I appeal to you to allow the change, but that's your call. I realize Dave missed a deadline recently and made no such appeal to his opponent - it was Ticket - but it was his choice not to do so.
I obviously didn't intend to play Rondo. In fact, a day and a half before the deadline, he wasn't even on my team anymore.
A real six-on-six match would be good, as you and Dave and others have so energetically pointed out, but I'll leave that up to you.
Eric since Invaders have little to gain by winning I'd not strongly object to you replacing Rondo on a personal basis but I do think that would be unfair to other teams trying to keep you out of 2nd place and/or the playoffs-Swat was stuck w/an injured Manu in his lineup for 3 matches.I'd have to win every game remaining to have a chance for 4th
Ticket says Rondo off of E-Team. The first under-manned team "on paper" in league history? When Wingo's Dead Head Robert Hunter can out number a fantasy manager in this league since day one, it appears the rigors of following decades of Dead tours has an advantage in the dementia department creeping into the former commish. I believe E-Team must be permitted a six man squad despite his many winded arguments against six man line ups aided by the second chance rule. The new and improved Ticket will grant the failing line up card filler a mulligan, even if he shot down my third chance at a Paul tally in a match period previously.
Speaking of stream of consciousness, nice sceneries Mark. Imagine a parent providing for a youngster's first impression of the second oldest western civilization. Parent of the year?
It's funny, this hasn't happened in a long time now that I think about it, but we have long allowed competitors with some kind of lineup issue to appeal directly to their match opponent for forbearance. Dave could have done it recently when he forgot to pull out his broken Pecko. Veteran league members will confirm this. It has never been subject to a wider appeal.
The fucked up thing is that I didn't forget anything. I submitted a lineup after scouring the landscape for my best options - not that many exist. Maybe I navigated away from the blog before I realized I had failed to pass the stupid security check feature.
Anyway, a fair fight would be good, but you guys do what you need to do.
And Tom, appreciate your somewhat surprising support. What's come over you? The big city is turning you all kind and gentle?
Invaders feel that it's alright for Eric to replace Kemba for Rondo.I think Walker had 28 this evening-if this is how it's been done in the past so be it-I just think people w/more to lose than me at this point should signal their approval
Wingos point out that the Lindsey and Hunter interim hires were an attempt at a Suns joke, which apparently failed. Big fan of Robert Cray, used to see him at Taylor's in Eugene in the late 70's, was at the filming of the Knights scene in Animal House with Robert, Tommie Smith et al, have a silkscreen by his ex - Jennie Guske, know their daughter Matisse... Wow, memories. But here I make my stand - despite the Eugene connection I will never let my team be coached or managed by North Eugene 3-sport All-State asshole Danny Ainge, and I recommend Bill Simmon's mock roast of him as Celtics GM to all.
Li'l H loves Italy, and recommends it highly. My ex has two twin brothers who did their junior year abroad thing - one to Barcelona, the other to Siena. Clear winner in the minds of all was Italy. The entire clan went to Europe together shortly after, avec moi. Ah, to swim in the Blue Grotto. The Amalfi coast is heaven on earth, Urbino my favorite Umbrian town. We even took the night ferry from Bari to the former Yugoslavia...
Suddenly loquacious Li'l H backs up E on the Rondo gaffe, even though he falls in the "nothing to lose" category with Invaders. I have had several problems this year with the new improved fucking security system (FSS) and the fact that he had been cut evidences intent.
Invaders used to party in Eugene late 80's an early 90's when I owned a rental house on Cal Young RD. on the Ferry street bridge side half way between the Coburg RD. Safeway on one side and the Oakway golf course on the other-great music scene in Eugene-loved Saturday Market and pub crawling-there were some wild chicks partying on the top floor of the Eugene Hilton at the Coconut Joes night club back then-was Taylors that blues club down by the Ferry Street bridge? That was a great dive/music place
Taylor's was student tavern right by campus at E. 13th & Kincaid (now called Old Taylor's. They did blues on Saturday nights, and the drummer for Robert (Butch) was a buddy of my co-bartender down the street... Robert hadn't gotten slick and smooth yet - great rough live blues...

Hey,
Heads up, missed Supp unexpectantly, so here is who I took:
I'll pick up Andre Drummond 4/5 and it looked like Dion Waiter 2 got dropped at some point so I will take him, if not Al-Farouq Aminu 3
Whoopie for my exciting loss to P4, still I'll take the over 200 score and hope to finally get lucky this season, so again:
Swat goes for Match 26:
