Explain the dime line Mark. Nitecap says -140 on a verbal citation. So that means if I mouth off the bettor wins how much on a ten dollar bet? You say +160 if a verbal error does not happen by the ump who ejected a guy protesting my call:an automatic out for swinging to more or less bunt in softball. E-Team saw my mistaken infield fly ruling on a soft liner to a geezer pitching with loaded bases and one out. Now the coach's definition of a verbal error results from misinforming some poor kid's swing or delivery at an early age by a coach self taught as a bottle smasher and a fence sign chopper.
If we're just talking about my use of profanity against a kid, coach, ump or parent, I pay 2 to 1 that doesn't happen my rookie year as a manager. Already lost a meter maid job for that variety of spoken faux pas. Now if a parent objects to my sending a kid home covered in mud, I only pay a buck for every ten bet on that not happening.

Tom a dime line means that there's only a 10 cent difference in the other side of the money line bet that covers the juice for the bookie and induces an equal amount of action on both sides which is what the books want-they just want their 10-20% on the entire handle w/equal amounts bet on both sides-to achieve this you must make the bet appealing either way to bettors which is difficult to do so you have to be ready to "lay off" the excess on a particular side to other bookies before the game is played-Las Vegas is like the stock market essentially the place where this is done on a national basis by regional bookies and the largest part of their action -so if Dave's the bookie and he puts up a money line of -1.40 to take the other side of the bet a dime line would be +1.50(or often +1.30)that was the good old days but now in Vegas and other Nevada books the lines are as much as 30 to 40 cents- this can be adjusted either way depending on the action anticipated so a -1.40 money line could be +1.20 on the other side if the action is seen likely moving that way
Invaders answer to your question Tom if the line is -1.40 and +1.60 you put up 14 to win 10 on the minus side win 16 for 10 on the plus side but it's up to Dave who is booking this bet w/you where he wants to set this line-since it's just you betting he doesn't need to attract other action so he can set the line as he chooses

Your JR I have replaced with an injured yesterday Amir Johnson.JR's bro Russ Smith under the tutelage of Louisville assistant coach Rod Strickland left me as a believer when Russ nearly beat Kentucky last season with him scoring like nobody;s biz. Is he a Lin calibre point or an I. Thomas hit and miss to make it in the NBA?
Invaders see Russ Smith as an end of the first rounder at best or early 2nd round pick he's only 6 feet-he's a great defender and probably will be an instant energy off the bench guy like his brother
